I am having a terrible time keeping the hardtop tight. Starts to rattle after very few miles and I really do not see a good way of tightening while it is on. This feature does not seem well engineered to me. I did a search and see that obi-wan developed replacement bolts to correct this problem so it seems this is a problem with the manufacture of the original assembly. Has the manufacturer corrected the assembly or is the only fix thru obi-wan? My search showed that some people are happy with obi-wan's replacement assembly. If this in fact corrects the problem how do I order? Thanks, Wally |

They actually changed the pins recently. They should replace them for free but they're not. ........and they are quite pricey. |

I understood that Metalcrafters has great customer service. It is obvious that these bolts were not designed properly or there would not be so many problems keeping them tight or adjusting while on the car, causing obi-wan to design something that worked. If Metalcraft has in fact upgraded the assembly they should replace those that do not work properly or at the very least offer the upgrade at cost. Thanks, |

No responses so I am bringing back to top to see if I can get someone to respond. These seem like important questions / concerns. Is the manufacturer of the hardtop offering to replace the assembly bolts since they were not engineered properly (evidenced by the fact they have now been corrected, if that rumor is true - also evidenced by obi-wan engineering an assembly that does work) or at least offer them at cost? Is everyone with obi-wan's assembly satisfied and is he still selling his assembly? Thanks, |

My reply today seems to be missing. It shows that there was one on the main page but it is gone. Can people remove topics that seem too controversial without telling the person why? Anyway - I am concerned that my previous 2 replies did not generate replies considering that the hardtop bolt assemblies are a real identified problem. I will try again. I have heard (previous reply) that the hardtop manufacturer has corrected/improved the bolt assemblies on the new hardtops. If this is so - are they sending the improved assemblies to people having problems or at least offering them at cost which would cost them nothing BUT go a long way towards servicing their customers. Does obi-wan's bolt assembly work? (adjust & tighten while on car and stay tight) and if so is he still selling them and how do I get in touch with him? If someone feels a need to remove this reply, please let me know why and I will correct what I am doing wrong. Thanks, |

Keep it off in the summer, I just love to be in a convertible. You are right that the car looks great with the top on. Not sure yet if we will go topless to Tulsa. |

Hard top is at my mother's house still in the crate it shipped in. My car is 75mi away at a friends house. I'll put the hardtop on if/when I visit home this fall. I agree that we all bought convertibles. I thoroughly enjoy driving convertibles. THEY'RE GRRRRRRRRRRRRRREAT. Maybe that is why all my cars are two seat convertibles? LL |

Never got the hardtop close to the car, waiting on the new pins from somebody we all know. But no luck so far. |
