Mine was my Work log on name. Store #1, Buddy Collins-1buddyc. I found for me it was easier using this log on at all the Sites I belong to....so I wouldnt forget! Kept it after I retired.

I’m afraid I’m with Marty and Ed on this one - and that’s a scary place to be.

When I post on forums, I usually go by one of two aliases. This alias is my less anonymous and more professional one.

My other one was created one night when a bunch of friends were drinking. Oddly enough, it was created for someone else, but somehow over the course of several years, the nickname migrated to me.

I figured the less anonymous and more professional one was more appropriate for this forum. Plus, if I ever come out of my semi-retirement, you wouldn’t want a CFO/VP Finance who is known for having a silly name.

CJ...........the One and Only

CJ is a nickname that I've had for a very long time. When we lived in Colorado many moons ago, I always wanted a Jeep. When I finally got my first one, it was a 1983 Jeep CJ-7 Limited. My friends thought it was "cute" that my actual first and middle name's initials were C and J to match my Jeep. So, they started calling me CJ and I actually had (and still do) have plates on it that say "CJ'S CJ". Since I like CJ better than my real name, I've always stuck with it. It think it fits me better anyway.

The One and Only sort of came about the same way. People (especially my family) were always saying that "Thank God there was only one CJ). LOL!

Well. . .I've lived in New Hampshire for years and when I tried to get FreeorDie for an AOL screen name many years ago, it was gone -- hence the 2. Got shed of AOL long ago, but I've used the handle ever since.

I'm afraid, though, that it isn't very creative either, but since I have a rather wide libertarian streak, it fits me pretty well.

To be honest, I couldn't think of a good name. I have a 59 Ford Galaxie, so I posted galaxie. Not very creative but it works.....I guess.

That supposed to be funny? Too many wierdo's on the Internet and on this site as well ... would never post my last name, Marty. Glad you feel "safe" in doing so.

Ray - yes, it was meant to be a joke. That's why I added the emoticon (or whatever they are called). Since you did not include one in your response I assume your reply was serious. Sorry - didn't mean to upset you or infer anything negative.

In answer to your question. I have no problem using my last name on this website.

Just because you are paranoid does not rule out that they really are after you.
Try www.zabasearch.com or google or dogpile. If you own property or have utilities in your name, you are on the internet.

Great Ed - zabasearch has me listed at my ex wifes address - The house she bought with her current husband six years after we got divorced. Plus I'm listed on at least three of my rental properites that I lost in my bankruptcy last year.
