quote: Galaxie and Prowler newbies - this info may also help you figure which sensor has the problem: "If your tranny goes into limp mode [stuck in 2nd gear],,,,engine light comes on but the speedo still works - failure of input tranny sensor If your tranny goes into limp mode,,,, engine light comes on and the speedo doesn't work - failure of the output tranny sensor As explained to me by a certified DC transmission tech. Keep those thoughts in mind,,,,carry spare sensors,,,,and a 1" deep socket to replace." I believe if you do a search on transmission sensors by Dan Pena, you will find the pictures of the underside area showing the location of each. |

Go for it! I had a blast bringing mine home from New Jersey just before Christmas. 1440 miles in less than 48 hours. Only spent one night on the road. Ride wasn't like a Cadillac, but that's expected. And all the honks, waves, and pictures were well worth it. If you haven't done it you should! Good Luck, |

Thank's for all the responses. I have a trailer so finding somewhere to put luggage won't be a problem. I have to agree with Ed, I personally don't find it comfortable. Enjoyable to drive but not comfortable. I'll be putting 5,000 miles on it in 14 days so when we get back I'll let you all know how it went. Again thank's for all the info. |
