quote: Did you run out of Dewar's, Rich?? I am amazed at the number of people that report not washing the car before waxing. Those "dusters" are great, but before applying wax and rubbing it into the finish, I would think you would want to wash the surface clean first ... and mild detergent soap will not hurt your car's finish either, but then what do I know -- just following the suggestions of a gentlemen in charge of the Corvette finesse line for the past 20 years in Bowling Green |

Geezzz! I feel like such a bad car mom!!! My car is so dirty!!! I drive it to work every day. I have 1/4 mile dirt driveway - lots of dust - before I hit pavement. I even drove my car to the grocery store today with all the pre-Thanksgiving day grocery shoppers. Accckkk! Luckily no new paint chips or door dings. The cool part is how many looks a Prowler gets in the gorcery store parking lot I do plan to wash it this weekend. Maybe some wax too... When we store the cats for the "off season", they are thoroughly washed, waxed and detailed first. When they are let out of the bag later, they are still perfectly clean. They do get waxed again, though. Unless they get rained on and get dirty, I just maintain them by constantly dusting and using Meguair's Quick Detail. The Candy Cat got rained on a LOT this year, so she had a lot a baths and re-waxes! |

One thing is keeping black clean......almost impossible task. I can't stand driving a dirty car....Pretty much the car gets washed after every ride and waxed probably about once a month.Zaino does some amazing things to black paint... |

quote: I'm with ya on that one Doc.... Zaino makes that black paint flawless.... I have been using a Eagle One "Wax-as-u-dry" product everytime i wash the car... just spray it on when the car is wet, then dry the car with a microfiber towel..... excellent job..... I put a coat of Zaino on about once a month.... |
