fortsmith,
I seriously like the tight fit. No more room in the cat than the old street rods. My wife refers to it as like "being in a cocoon".
Do a site search on the peeling chrome rims. Unfortunately it's a problem that never got resolved by DC. The inside barrel portion of the rim never got prepped properly.

The Prowler is a very unique car. I seriously don't feel it's for everyone. Good luck on your decision!

Well, I went back today and took the wife with me. We sat in it with top up and with top down. I adjusted the seat more, turned on the A/C, had the radio going, and relaxed a bit more. Soon, I was fine with the feel. I was so used to having a lot of elbow room, that my first impression was not a good one. However, going in with the mindset of crawling into a fifties rod, I liked it more. So, all seems a go.......

Thanks for the replies!!!

We went to a cruise-in in Halifax last Friday evening. A guy came up and said he always wanted a Prowler but wouldn't fit. I asked him if he adjusted the seat "down" and he did not realize you could do that. He was 6' 4" but thin. I let him sit in my car. He got out and said, "I am in love again". He stayed and talked to us for the rest of the evening and then followed us for about 2 miles to look at the cars in motion. He pulled up next to us at a light and again said he couldn't wait to start spending money on the Prowler he was going to buy.
It made our night. He does not own a computer, however.

I'm 6'3", 290lbs and I'm comfortable once in (easy with the top down)getting out can be trying (not to look like a BIG fool)the door widening mod helps a lot.
I like the sitting low down in the body, I use to have a T-Bucket and always felt like a Big dummy hanging out all over.
Ride is good to me, especially compared to the rods I have owned. But I have always gone with the saying: "It doesn't matter how well it rides, it's how cool it looks", remember the chopped and lowered 50 Mercs? Hard ride, hard to get in and out of, bad visibility, but damn they look cool!

Hey fortsmith, Where exactly is Mims, Florida? We have a GREAT group at the Florida Kat Pack, and have pretty regular get togethers and stuff. I'm sure if you need a more experienced view on which of the Prowler's you're looking at is the best one, just yell. And if you come to our outings, you can check out all the cool mods that are different from car to car. - Randy

Thanks Randy! Mims is between Daytona Beach and Cocoa. Middle of the state on the East coast. Where do you folks normally have your get togethers?
