The Road Warrior 5.0 is back home again. With newly designed head gaskets and 1000 miles it’s running great. No check engine light and diminishing rubber on the rear tires. For now we are running rich until we start playing with the nitrous. With flowed heads and stock cams it runs very strong with no codes. Dean’s working on cams and when he gets them to work with the ECM with no engine codes (hurry up Dean) I may have to think about a head swap but for now the car runs soooooooo good I may just stay with this package. |

I was hoping this topic would come to the top again. Such a great visual. Glad to hear you not blowing fluid out the motor this time. . Wish I would have my camera, wait,, I did, LoL. We need about four Dean's in one shop to get the motors out in a timely basis. |

Thanx for restraining yourself, go ahead and take your best shot now. Figure out a way to clone Dean and we'd see alot more 5.0's running around. With his and Holly's baby due any day now it may slow him down a little. Holly's been helping him at the shop and he's putting together a tool set for their new daughter so that might help. |

quote: What the heck, it's labor day, and lately my laborers are pi$$ing me off, LoL Actually am glad your up and running. You actually run your car, even if only to third gear. To be honest, I think of all the cars out there I could have had with 3/4 of the money and sweat I put into this one. Well,, let's just say there's a lot. I hope yours stays strong, you earned it with everything you went through. No cheap shots for you Marc, we will race again one day, and again, and,, |

quote: Al, no real secret but every car would be different depending on alot of things I already had on my car. Thru the hood, headers, gears, fuel pump, torque converter, nitrous etc. etc. I paid between 15 and 20K for installation of motor, radiator, water pump and alot of smaller things with alot of tuning as mine is only the second one running. As John said each motor could be a little different (if the buyer wants) as Dean is constantly making advancements. He now has a base long block (like mine) that works with all of the stock controllers and runs fantastic. I can't wait to see one with a stock intake. |

Al - I think both Dean at Prowler Pro and Norm at Westech still have so much developement going on that until they settle on an engine package(s) to offer it is premature to have set pricing. As Marc said Dean is getting some more engines ready in different configurations such as with and without through the hood scoop/intake. Norm is planning different size stroker/bore & stroke packages with target pricing of about the same as a Paxton install on the smaller stoker and somewhere in ther range Marc spent on a super stroker. With a 4.0 litre stroker producing 220 HP at the rear wheels I was running 13.9 - 14.4 depneding on track conditions. With the 4.3 putting out about 260 RWHP I have run 13.4 - 13.8's. I would expect his HP output to increase on both engines and have no idea of HP target on his superstroker. |

Dan - I didn't realize there were any "posting wars" going on and I certainly don't think anyone should be, and hope no one is losing POA friends from posts on this subject. I agree that that best way to get info is to pick up the phone and call or use email to ask your questions. I also believe that if Dean and/or Norm would post their opinions you and I and Marc would not be speculating or answering on their projects. Some POA people are looking for info and this is a forum to provide them with some answers. If my posts have somehow offended you I am sorry. Feel free to email me/message me/or call me anytime 502 386-9642. The POA world is too small to lose freinds over sharing information. I have a lot of respect for Dean and have had several conversaqtions with him about his 5.0 project. It's all about people getting out there and having fun with their Prowlers. Marty |
