quote: There is only one engine. For the 04 models it had 300+ hp. For the 05, this was upped to 400 hp. You can't order an 05 with anything else. Another thing to consider, with the prowler you either buy used (perhaps little or no warranty) or new (but a 2002 model at best). If you want new, fresh warranty, and are using for a daily driver, I'd look at anything that is a 2005/6 model. This message has been edited by YellowFever on 05-23-2005 at 02:11 PM |

You have not to do a lot to make a ssr a nice Hot Rod Pick Up. Get a 4way Air-Ride system with remote (...cool), order the org. chrom-wheels and get a remote for the automatic top, put some flames on it. I saw 2005 aquar-blurĀ“s for $36500 cash. |

The SSR is a more refined machine. The frame is quite a bit more stiff than the Prowler, you don't get the dash shimmy in the ssr. Top up I have no wind noise, and nearly forget that I'm in a convertible. The V8 is a definate plus over the prowler no matter which one you choose. Yes the SSR is losing value, but the prowler went down that same road for awhile as well. It just depends on what you like better. If you plan on taking a long trip with the Prowler I recommend you purchase a trailer to tow behind it. The Prowler does get a little more attention than an SSR though.
