A bunch of "nice pairs" posted! I should have gotten my wife to buy a Midnight Blue PT instead of her Graphite one . . . oh well! She still has a great pair! |

Now hang on...a LOT of those nice pairs look like they have been surgically augmented! Are those implants?!?!?!?! Well, that's OK. I've never discriminated against nice pairs with implants! |

Is this one pair? Or two pairs? Would that be a pair of pairs?

Thanks Dale. That's a fun one. A really talented guy just outside of Houston by the name of Pat Maxwell/Maxwell Designs did the work. The paint is House of Colors Black with House of Colors Pearl Flames from Yellow through Tangelo to Torch Red. Has custom skull graphics on the hood and bottom of the tailgate. It has a full airbag suspension, and the rear axle was shortened 10" to fit custom made 10" deep Colorado Custom wheels under the back of the car. Believe it or not, it has 19" x 7 1/2"s on the front and 20" x 10"s on the back. Wabasto electric ragtop, and a full custom Torch Red leather interior to finish it off. Car's won Best in Show/Best in Class in a lot of shows, including some pretty major ones. The pictures don't actually do it justice. The idea was to approach the customization as if the car was a 32 ford or any other classic American Hot Rod - the designers obviously had a 30's/40's sedan in mind when they came up with the body style for the PT, so "Classic Hot Rod" was the order of the day when it came to the custom work. I'd like to think this one was taken further in that direction than any other PT in the country PT's have a lot of potential - most people underestimate just how cool they can look if done right. Any of you guys in Texas or the surrounding area who want some 1st cabin custom work done on any of your cars, Pat's the guy. Unbelieveable talent - his paint work in particular is astounding. Super meticulous, and a nice guy too. Wouldn't surprise me a bit if he turns out to be the next big name in car customization. I'd be happy to give you his phone number. Here's some better pictures:

I no longer have a pair.........it is more like a full house Here is a picture of a pair I use to have. I would love to have them now. This picture was taken about 1981 at sunrise. I got ready for work and thought this would make a cool shot. The actual print looks better than the scanned shot you see. I had the Challenger for about 17 years and the `Cuda for 7 or 8 years. I cannot believe I don't have more and better pictures of the `Cuda. I've got some really good Challenger shots but this is the best of the `Cuda. I bought the `72 340 3 speed manual Challenger for $1,550 in `78 and the `71 383 `Cuda Convertible in `79 for $850.00. ------------------ |
