quote: SirReal I went and found my paperwork on the Prowler trailer. All it really says is to keep the wheel assemblies fully lubricated. The bearings need to be checked periodically and repacked if necessary. No time limit. Just remove old grease from the bearing and hub; repack the bearing and fill the hub with wheel bearing grease. When reinstalling the bearing, tighten the retaining nut to a snug position. Back the nut off to the first aligned cotter pin hole and install cotter pin & dust cover. That's it. By the way they suggest the tires carry 26psi. Hope this helps. |

Jim, Thanks for the info! I smoked a wheel bearing on my boat trailer once. Don't want to do that again. Crazy part was, I was managing a boat store at the time and had sold a lot of Bearing Buddies, just not to myself.lol Thanks again! |

Not a problem. If you need any additional info let me know. I'll check this topic off and on. Watch out when you remove the wheel covers. The set screw is a phillips head. |

By the way before i forget the instructions say that while the set screw is a phillips head it differentiates itself from the torx head assembly screws. ONLY REMOVE THE PHILLIPS HEAD SCREW. |

I've got a question on the trailer! My trailer is carpeted. It looks like it was original equipment and I assumed it was (brought the car and trailer together from a second party) but someone at a car show said that the original trailers came un-carpeted. I don't have pictures yet because its still put away for the winter (just got the Kat out last weekend) Anyone know if carpeting is original equipment? |

Most experts (at car shows) are those who NEVER owned the vehicles the claim to know so much about. My next annuity check rides on "all Prowler trailers were carpeted". Munchkin, speak up! |

Unless I am having a severe senior moment, I thought my DC parts guy was telling me something about a Prowler trailer in some kind of kit form awhile back. |

There were unpainted trailer kits available way back. The rest of them had carpet, I don't remember about the kit. |
