I did not realize this was an old thread until I was about half way through it. I will try to take some pics of my Candy with the chromed "stock" front end and post them.

The pictures do not show the chrome all that well but I thought they were turning out okay until I saw them on the computer. Next time I will use my reading glasses when I am looking at them on the camera, lol.
This is a diff. camera and I still am not all that familiar with it.

That mod Brings this car to a much higher level in my opinion. Has anyone "smoothed out" the a-arms and repainted?

That also means taking out the ball joints from the arms if that are the ones to be reprocessed. He's also got a lot of chrome on his car and has a "California Shaved" look car and that together with a very special Spectaflair paint job really sets the chrome off so for his car it really looks neat.

Semi show car???????

(I realize I drive the car a lot, but I have seen some so called "show car" quality Prowlers, and I have no problem putting this old "semi show" car up against any of them,,,,)

Let it be said I have over 45,000 miles on most of my chrome. Have one issue only with cleaning the threads of a small bit rust on the steering rod. As far as taking things apart to redo if ever, much simpler than you may think.

Compare that to about 30,000 miles on the spectra flair paint, that will be going in next year for either complete redo, or new color all together, because of nicks, etc.

Chrome is where it's at IMO I have just ordered more from Gary, who has stood by his products great for me. I have I think 5 items that are just polished on my car, which will be in line for chrome soon.

Choices are good, we need all the supporting vendors on this site we can get.

Just a word of advice to anyone considering just polishing and not chroming their aluminum front end parts. Be prepared to do a lot of hand polishing to keep the shine.

Aluminum is softer than chrome and will pit, sandblast and oxidize more than chrome ever will. If you want an easy to maintain, durable and beautiful front suspension, there is no better choice than chrome. I've had chrome a-arm covers and chrome struts by Gary on my cars for over 100000 miles and they still look good.
I've never had to polish my chrome. All I have to do is wipe it with a rag to keep it looking good.

I had my controls arms polished and the strut rods, brake hoses, calipers, fender mount screws, and fender supports were purchased from Gary (a super guy to deal with)I did apply the coating on everthing to protect. After over two years of personal enjoyment and all the comments I would do it again in a heart beat.
