I did not realize this was an old thread until I was about half way through it. I will try to take some pics of my Candy with the chromed "stock" front end and post them. |

The pictures do not show the chrome all that well but I thought they were turning out okay until I saw them on the computer. Next time I will use my reading glasses when I am looking at them on the camera, lol. This is a diff. camera and I still am not all that familiar with it. |

That mod Brings this car to a much higher level in my opinion. Has anyone "smoothed out" the a-arms and repainted? |

quote: Semi show car??????? (I realize I drive the car a lot, but I have seen some so called "show car" quality Prowlers, and I have no problem putting this old "semi show" car up against any of them,,,,)
Compare that to about 30,000 miles on the spectra flair paint, that will be going in next year for either complete redo, or new color all together, because of nicks, etc. Chrome is where it's at IMO I have just ordered more from Gary, who has stood by his products great for me. I have I think 5 items that are just polished on my car, which will be in line for chrome soon. Choices are good, we need all the supporting vendors on this site we can get.

Just a word of advice to anyone considering just polishing and not chroming their aluminum front end parts. Be prepared to do a lot of hand polishing to keep the shine. Aluminum is softer than chrome and will pit, sandblast and oxidize more than chrome ever will. If you want an easy to maintain, durable and beautiful front suspension, there is no better choice than chrome. I've had chrome a-arm covers and chrome struts by Gary on my cars for over 100000 miles and they still look good. This message has been edited by Larry Lord on 06-01-2005 at 08:16 PM |

I had my controls arms polished and the strut rods, brake hoses, calipers, fender mount screws, and fender supports were purchased from Gary (a super guy to deal with)I did apply the coating on everthing to protect. After over two years of personal enjoyment and all the comments I would do it again in a heart beat. |
