Wow I struck a common nerve here....

I just might cancel my long running subscription, plus every year I gave out 3 gift subscriptions to that rag, so they will lose four subscriptions.

I have always seen T-Birds and Prowlers slammed in C&D and Motor Trend repeatedly.....It's disgusting, yet they fall over themselves drooling over how mnay cupholders an Expedition has...

I'll miss the reviews of RV's that float though...

Thanks for speaking for all the Prowler Owners. That was needed. I like the last line about his book. That was great.

Brock Yates never got it....If it isn't built in Europe it doesn't cut it. Maybe that's why I don't read the rag. Nice letter...if they publish it, post so I can read it in my Dentist"s office

Joe - thanks for the well written letter to that rag.

Obviously, that AH Yates gets payola from the European lobbyists to promote their crap.

By the way, I have nothing against Vettes. I think they are really cool. Just not as cool as a Prowler.

The BEST statement when I was driving my Prowler, before it was painted too.......We were stopped at a stop light and a 40th anniversary Corvette was next to us. The late 20 early 30 something male driver was looking then started asking Sue questions. Before he pulled away from the light he stated

"I thought I had a cool car until I pulled up next to you"

I think that says it all

either you get it or you Don't BROCK DOES NOT GET IT

Interesting.....

I own, among other cars, a Prowler (2001), an Allante (1993 Northstar) and a Delorean (1981) so I must really be dumb. What does he own?

This is a copy of what I sent to Brock Yates:

Brock Yates:
When you say “Lesson: When you go outside the box in the auto industry, you had better be spot on, ………... But when you’re wide of the mark, especially in terms of styling………….major embarrassments lie ahead. Just ask a Cadillac Allante’ or Plymouth Prowler owner.”

I beg to differ with you on the Prowler. You, Brock Yates, are wide of the mark on your assessment of the Prowler being an ‘embarrassment’. It was intended to be a five year limited production. It’s not an embarrassment to Chrysler, nor is it an embarrassment to its owners. It’s a source of tremendous pride and enjoyment. Its a ‘magnet’ for conversation, admiration, attention, envy, thumbs up, and picture taking. These things happen whether it is sitting still or driving down the highway.
Obviously you don’t have a Prowler, therefore you wouldn’t know this, so I forgive your erroneous assessment.

Well, I must say that I've owned my Candy Prowler now for about 2 weeks and well ... I am a bit embarassed.

I mean everywhere I go people are looking and pointing at the coolest car they've ever seen. Little kids yelling from school buses. Hot girls at the beach just staring (I'd like to think at me, but I know it's my Kat). It is quite embarrasing to get so much attention. Hell, since owning my prowler I've now trippled the number of neighbors I know. As someone pointed out to me when I was getting ready to buy, the only negative ... don't buy it if you don't want attention.

But then again, what do you expect for buying the sharpest looking concept car that actually made it to production.

And if this car was $100K and I had the means, I'd still buy it !!
