Hey Norb. If the quality is up to your standards, I would like to be one of the first ones to have one. I'll send the cash right out or pay by cc over the phone. Thanks, Wes |

I have received the sample back and was not pleased with the initial product. I have sent it back to have it redone and explained what I am looking for as far a quality. My vendor tells me they can achieve what I want. (The area I was not pleased with on the sample grill was on the very top fin when you open the hood. My vendor thought that fin was hidden and not visible so he did not pay much attention to detail in that area. I have since corrected him and I am suppose to receive rechromed grill any day.) I will honest with all of you tell you if my vendor does not supply me with a grill that we all expect to be 100% perfect. I will post more news as soon as I receive the grill back from my vendor. ------------------ This message has been edited by Norb @ TGF on 07-08-2004 at 09:36 AM |

You all are gone to love this. I sent a Candy Red and a Silver Grille to Advanced in late Feb or early March. I got home from the golf course this afternoon to find a nice box on the front porch. I now have a Candy Red and a Purple grille. In only three months they not only failed to chrome anything but they returned the wrong grille to me. I am overjoyed with Advanced. I had no clue nothing was being done all this time. This is unreal. |

Sorry Ed - that gave me quite a laugh!! It could have been worse though - you could have gotten back a silver and a purple so that the Candy didn't have one to match it!!! T

Tami, after thinking it over, I did send them three. I bought Wildcat's old chrome grille so I owed Wildcat my Candy and I bought Richard's silver and the purple he had bought. I guess I came out ahead. I got to keep the Candy and I wonder what Larry Wildcat got back. I can't believe the stuff sat for three months without anything being done to it. |

I got my chrome back today from Advanced. Still has two, 3/8 inch voids on the underside of the top fin, where the large gouge was last time. I put it on the car, and am going to figure a way to fill it in and paint it chrome. The rest is SHOW QUALITY, that's why the voids are so disappointing. Pics may not show up good, taken very quickly. But to be honest, I am pretty happy with it. IMO, they should keep doing them, charge more, and have a better quality control throughout the stages. |

Ed: That has to be disappointing after all of that time! I know it's hard to really tell in the picture of JD's car if there are imperfections - it looks fantastic!!! Wish they were still going to try and do these! T

I am sorry everyone is getting their's back. I guess I feel somewhat responsible for it by rejecting mine twice. Remember I already had a chrome grill from the people in Fl. that I was not happy with. Advance assured me it would come out right. Again, 90% of the piece is almost perfect, mirror finish. It's the location of the marks that is bad. It has to be painted or something. I know the pics don't show, but it is almost the first thing you see when walking up close to it. I really thing the gouge were made during the very first process of plating, that is the critical time. If they could get that first process taken care of the grills would be awesome. Again, I am sorry you are all getting your grills back, I hope Norb can come up with something equal or better. |

Please see my post under Larry's thread on No Grills from Advanced. Won't repeat but ... "perfection" IS an illness and causes undue stress. Life's too short for this. Prowl On. |
