We use a squegee and I put Rain x on, but there is a buidup of the water spots by 4 years of use by the prior owner. The kids also say they use the squegee on theirs, but as a practical matter, I know they don't. I need something to get the buildup off and then I think the preventative measure of Rain X may keep it clearer. Thanks all! ------------------ |

For the shower, try CLR. Works great on AZ hard water buildup...it'll work great on your hard water problems too. Curt |

quote: Randy - when the shower door gets so nasty you can't stand it any longer, simply get a screwdiver, remove the door and replace with a new one. If you get five years with a shower door it will be cheaper than using Rain-X weekly. For winshield marks left by the wipers I agree with "REMOVETHE WIPERS" I have not missed mine in over 50,000 miles of driving over 2 years. Marty |

For car glass cleaning, I, too, swear by Invisible Glass from Stoner. I rep stuff for a living but not this stuff. It's really a superior frequent-use cleaner at a reasonable cost. As for the wiper marks, however, Ray, I don't think even the Invisible Glass will cut it. Might be worth a try for the Zaino product. They have created great polishes in the Z series. I am sold on both companies' efforts. I'd say go try the Zaino. |

Nice to see the battle of the Yellows come to a happy ending... Let's look at the CAUSE of the problem. I just changed my wiper blades recently, and noticed they were torn at the edge that the wiper arm is on. It looks like the curve of the windshield puts a lot of pressure on the leading edge of the wiper. I would suggest checking your wipers (IF you have them...LOL) and look for signs of tearing which would cause the rubber wiper base to wipe the windshield instead of the wiper edge. Take a look. I bet if you haven't inspected your wipers in a while, you'll notice they tear on one side! |

Checked my wipers again. No tears, blades look good.Tried Invisible Glass, while it got my windshield cleaner then I ever saw before, the marks are still there. Time to try Zaino. |

quote: I had no doubt about that - Invisible Glass is a good glass cleaner, streak free and all, but I assumed you already tried a glass cleaner. The Zaino can be used by hand first, the mild abrasive will cut through the grime that a glass cleaner can't get, but to get it really squeaky clean, you should use power - a drill with a wool bonnet will do. Just remember to keep away from the rubber around the glass (or mask it) or it will scuff from the Z. After that, maintain the glass with regular glass cleaner (Invisible Glass is fine) until you need the Z again, in about a year. Good luck. -GRROWL P.S. - Z is also GRReat for getting the film off the inside. If you use it inside, do it BEFORE the rest of your detail - it does dust, and if you use if last (as usual) you'll have to clean the inside again. |

Thanks Ray, Hey, you turned me onto Invisible glass. I've never seen the glass so clear. I'll try Zaino by hand first, as the marks are just at the upper edge where the top of the wiper hits. It's hard to explain. No way that it's a scratch. More like a shiny streak. I'm hoping that a little elbow grease with Zaino will do it. |
