Automatic car wash is a NO-NO!! Too much risk for damage. I only use a do-it-yourself car wash if I have no other option (usually at a Prowler event). I always hand wash mine, but I only have to wash it a couple times during the cruising season here. I wash it when it comes out of the bag (even though I wash it before I store it). The remainder of the season, I just dust and use Meguiar's Quick Detailer to keep it clean and shiny. The only other time is if it gets caught in a rainstorm........which has happened a few times...always on a Prowler event!

Mr. Chromer (and Jack the Wonder Dog),

Forgive my ignorance, but I'm not quite sure what you mean by "catfish door mods."

I pray to God you don't mean this:

twilightzone78 - that is a close resemblance

Actually, Chromer is referring to Jan "Catfish" Bruggeman's modification of getting the Prowler doors to open wider,,,so us lard butts can get in and out easier.

Mudflaps are a must...all other mods are to taste (and kidney availablity lol) Hand wash is the best as are Meguiers products. Like CJ..Quik Detail, dusting usually get me through most of the season except for Prowler meets where it tends to rain (when you're far from home). The 'power wash" booths at some car washes are ok in a pinch. Enjoy and welcome to the club. Don't smile too much or you'll need a plastic surgeon!
