I'll be coming through Chicago later this winter taking my car up to Wisconsin. Wouldn't want to move there - too much traffic. Black is NOT a color for a daily driver in any vehicle. I love my black kat, but I've about rubbed the clear coat off trying to keep it clean. I am not knocking you (or anyone) that takes great care of the Prowlers. Mine is my primary transportation and I just have to live with whatever weather I endure. When my two kids get out college, I should still be able to find a low mileage Prowler and make her a weekends only vehicle! I am sure you will look forwrd to Springtime. |

Congrats and Welcome! Stay tuned to the board for postings on local events (or national ones). Its a great way to meet alot of good people. Once the weather breaks in the spring, we'll have to get together for a cruise. |

Congrats on the purchase.. If the mud flap is gone, make sure the mount is still in place in the wheel fender or you will have a time getting the new one mounted correctly. Even if the person gives you a trashed mud flap with the bracket, that would be a great thing. New fenders are $750 each, but you might be able to use UPOL or some other body adhesive to mount nuts in place to accept the bolt. |

Checked the fender right away. It still has the brackets attached. So it's just a matter of going to the parts store. One of many trips I see in my future. |

CONGRATS! I wouldn't worry too much. Just hose off the undercarriage when you get home. No big deal. ------------------ |

Congrats on the prowler! I just picked up a 'new' 2001 Orange prowler from Florida 3 weeks ago and drove it home. 1100 miles, what a blast. When the weather breaks, lets get something going so we can all meet. I am out of Springfield, IL and don't mind putting miles on the prowler. Looks like Enduro might be up for a cruise also.

Nothing really. Had the same name when I was on different forums. Easier to remember the same name than to make up a new one that I could possibly forget. Too many names and passwords |

Great deal on the mount! Most others may disagree but I cut 1" from the fronts (this was my second set). I still drag over most speed breakers, but you definitely want to get these on to keep the sand blasting of your paint down and the road goop off the sides. |

Congrats on getting your Prowler! I felt the same way when I got mine, and at 50 years old the car makes me feel 18 again every time I get behind the wheel! I used to be a Vette fan, having owned 2 in my life time, but when I first saw the Prowler at the L.A. Auto show in 1998, I knew someday I would have to own one, and forgot all about Vettes! As A/C says, "enjoy the ride"! |

Congrats! Welcome! Mudflaps should be available at your dealer by next day. I have rear flaps...IMO: don't trim the fronts, they will be useless. hang them as low as they will go. Our winters don't compare to Chicago so store your s for the winter if you have another car. Aluminum will corrode from salt...I rinse mine off frequently in the winter because...... ------------------ |

She will be in the Garage for the next several months. I've got a Dodge Ram Quad cab 4X4 for all my other driving. I don't know how the truck is going to like losing it's space in the garage. You have no problem with the mudflaps? What about backing over the curb, when backing into the garage, or is it wise to never back up in situations like that? |

Congrats to another Chicago suburbanite! Put the silver cat in the garage, put a cover on it, put 12" high card board around the perimeter of the car to keep the dust away from the tires/underside. Enjoy the feeling of knowing whats underneath. I'll see you on 294 near the Zenith plant! Prowler driving weather is only 90 days away! |

Backing into my garage would entail going over about a 5" curb at the street. No room to turn it around in the driveway. That's why I asked the question. I'd prefer backing into my garage but not at the expense of a fender. |

I understand your mudflap concern. I have a steep 4 1/2 inch climb up to my driveway. Interestingly enough, I have to pull in nose first up the "ramp" .....and HAVE to back out the driveway, because if I go down the slope nose first I will scrape the mudflaps...Other than that, the only enemy of low mudflaps are speedbumps and deep gravel driveways. I have backed up over speedbumps with no problems, but some have had the flaps ripped off doing that. All I know is my flaps are low as can be, and I have next to zero rock chips on my sides after 8500 miles. |
