There is almost 3000 membersBut how many post or even get involved in POA site????400? Anyone can join, only a few add to the site with answers to questions, and imput on Prowlers in general. In the chat room half the people just sit there and watch what goes on and rarely say anything.I guess i have to much free time getting on POA seeing whats new and giving my 2 Cents worth several times a day!!Did you ever click on some of the new members info? Most of the time they don't even let you know where they live or what their name is. Large numbers of members don't impress me (3000) I'll be impressed when 400 show up at a national event. 300? 200? ------------------ |

If only one percent are active, it still helps to have more members. One percent of 4000 is twice as many as one percent of 2000. A lot are not owners, have never been owners or are former owners who no longer participate. The more the merrier (except in a few cases, lol). Jan 30, 2004. What is the prize for the winner? Prowler Keith always wins these contests!!! |

No offense to anyone, but yes, there are a lot of owners who have registered but may not post. Not everyone is comfortable with posting on a board like this. A lot of them do, however, read everything on here and take advantage of the information. They also attend events. I receive a lot of emails from owners who had questions about things on the board, but just aren't into posting. So, I know they are out there....and that's okay. We are still providing them with the best Prowler information site. With regard to the chat room, I participate as much as time allows. Another venue that people aren't necessarily comfortable with. Quite frankly, sometimes the topics in the chat room just aren't something I have anything to say about (yes, that does happen once in a while!! ), and sometimes my (and other people, too) "other" life is very busy and I just don't have a lot of time to spare. We all just need to keep encouraging everyone to participate as they can.......... |

The first time I posted, sounds funny now, but I had a heck of a time finding the "post reply" and "post new topic" links. When looking for links to click, the first thing I look for is "underlined text", not "graphics", so I read all of the text on the screen. Finally, I found the graphic "post reply" and "post new topic" links at the top and bottom of the page. If it is not extremely intuitive for many folks, they will not spend any time to figure it out. I believe that my discussion thread on the prowler map got a reply from most of the folks who have interest in participating... My map includes several who are not signed-in members, who just emailed me their info. The number of Prowlers mapped is 311. My guess is December 27, 2003. |

Everyone that buys one, will not join. Think about it, are you a member of a club for every vehicle you own? And boat? And motorcycle? And plane? and.... not unles you are rich and retired and don't care to use those things. I'd venture to say alot of folks have joined just to be able to ask a question (and haven't returned) or more likely to sell something. I'd be surprised if even 10% are regulars. Every now and then there is a post that asks everyone to respond. I've yet to see one with more then 40 or 50 different names on it. This is not to slam the POA, this is consistent with every other web site out there. To give you a frame of reference, the Ford truck site boasts 150,000 members. 10% would be 15,000 folks posting and online. There is no where near that amount. Continental Airlines as over a million OnePass members and yet their site only sees 4-6000 transactions a week. |

3000 will be reached Feb 13th, 2004. Looking at the membership list sorted by number of posts only about 300 members have posted 25 times or more. Although I think every other page of that particular list is missing so there actual number could be about 600 people. This message has been edited by Marty Usher on 11-22-2003 at 11:29 AM |

So assuming 'somewhere around' 600 people might be considered 'somewhat active'... that's not (I dont think) a bad representation for 'somewhere around' 11,000 owners (some do have more than one)...... 5%... not really that bad... I wonder how many vettes were made and how many of those are active participants in any one organization.

I am new to this forum and I think you guys and gals rock. I WAS a Corvette owner most of my life, and I love my Prowler. I think we will reach 3000 members Jan. 27/04, my birthday!! (37 this year) My profile is correct, I do own a Prowler and my real name is Christina. People that are truthful have nothing to hide. I am sure this site makes other non-Prowler owner's wish they had one, and if they do buy one in the future, they will feel very welcome to turn out to a meet - I personally can't wait to prowl to an event with other Prowlers and meet with all you wonderful people. I am busier then most people, my family own 6 care homes for the elderly and mentally challenged, but everyday when I wake, and when I go to bed, I turn my computer on and see what is happening on the forum, I am addicted and it is all you Prowler owners faults! 3000 members and 3000 names are two different things. Several in here have multiple names registered. I say we hit the 3000 mark Feb. 12, 2004. Christina - same birthday as my mom. Should be easy to remember... would like to have you in Texas in June if you can make it. ------------------ |
