The seat can be lowered, but you have to be sitting in it for it to go down. You have to be outside of the car for it to rise back up with the same lever.

The top up but only with the HARD TOP.
Other wise its top down.

As for the seat, Tech manual indicates you can operate even with setting in the seat. Page 756 from Tech manual: "Seat can be adjusted while comfortably sitting in front seat by pulling lever, max weight in seat can not exceed 375 lbs. All weight Over prescribed limit puts user at risk".
I assume that ED's approach would need to be used in all other cases:
"Remove one self from seat, stand outside of car and pull lever to raise seat".

I usually drive my cat when the sun is shinning, so top down.

But ! I have to say when I look at the prowler from outside I prefer it much with top up. The look is sooo much different. But it is so uncomfortable to drive with the
trunked view.

1) Top up looks so much meaner! But more fun to drive with top down.

2) Dr Prowler....To lower your seat all the way down (I'm 6' 1") move your seat forward just a little, and make sure your seat back is NOT touching the back of the cockpit. Those things hamper your ability to jockey the seat down as far as possible. First pull your side lever back and get the back part of your seat bottom as far down as possible while making sure your seatback isn't touching the back "wall". Then push forward and jockey the fron deat bottom part down. then you can push the seat as far back as you want......

I have probably driven with the top up about 3 to 4 times in the last seven months. When I do, I use the TGF's hard top. I rarely used the soft top.

Dr Prowler:
I'm 6'5" and I have plenty of headroom. I guess my seat came adjusted as low as it would go. Shoulders feel a little tight, but I'm used to a Tahoe.
I purchased a back support pillow (about 1.5 inches thick) that helps alot on trips over 45 minutes.
The only other thing I've had to adjust on because of my size is the wind burn with the top down. I have learned to turn the visors up as far as they will go to deflect the wind and even though I hate to wear hats or caps, I wear a fitted cap turned backwards when driving a long distance. I've got to turn it backwrds so the wind will not get under the bill and blow it off. I wore an adjustable one on a road trip to Myrtle Beach the end of July (3.5 hour drive) and got wind and sun burned in an oval on my forehead in the area above the adjustable strap. Bought a fitted hat the next day.
Little inconveniences for such a great feeling driving such a great car!
