In 2000 half of that main lot was reserved for GTO's only. They did it somehow. Maybe if we could guarantee X number of Prowlers/PT's/Vipers/Mopars we could get a piece of that lot? Mike |

Mike......traditionally, quite a bit of that lot was designated for GM/Pontiac. Could be why the GTO's. Don't know anymore what commitment, if any, GM makes for the Phoenix center. I didn't see the usual manufacturer rigs there this year! I did see several of those rigs closer to 13 and Woodward this year. 13 and Woodward has always been the epicenter of activity for the cruise. I would guess that GM wanted to be closer? |

My son Geoff & I attended Woodward again this year and it was the highlight of the summer! Because we were limited on time we were not able to bring our Prowler it was a much different experience than the previous year. We spent Wednesday and Thursday looking at the Ford and Dodge mansions and really enjoyed the Thursday night cruise and the fellowship with Prowler owners at Big Bucks. Fridays trip to the plant and lunch gave us additional time to spend with some really great folks - Prowler Owners. We can't thank CJ and Bob enough for helping us get tickets to the Black Tee. Saturday was great, not having a Prowler, we walked most of Woodward taking in the manufacturers displays and the cool cars cruising Woodward. Sunday morning we went to Grosse Point and spent some time looking at the old Packard Plant. What a sad sight but a real lesson to what happens to those that fail plan and develop products for a changing market. Then it was on to Greenfield Village before we had to catch our flight for home. |

CJ, Yes there was a very much diminished corporate presence in Pontiac. The Pontiac tent wasn't there at all. No concept cars, no older Trans Ams. Nothing. I still prefer Pontiac because there is less zero mph, bumper to bumper cruising (crawling?), the cops let things go, you can get an open lane in front of you much longer than I would have imagined at such a well attended event. I had an absolute BLAST even with the lesser Prowler and Pontiac/GM presence. Let's do Pontiac every year. My 2 cents. Mike |
