Hey PK, dont be knocking those Star riders. I ride a Royal which can't be mistaken for a Hog because it's a 4, but then again, HD riders have poor perception at times. ------------------ |

I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all drivers are created equal." I have a dream that one day on the roads of the US, the sons of Vette owners and the sons of Prowler owners will be able to wave to one another. I have a dream that I will one day live in a nation where cars will not be judged by their color, but by the amount of aluminum in their frames. I have a dream today! ------------------ |

Tarzan, PK lives in Canada so he will need an exemption. I think he called me old and insulted the PT, too. I guess it is a good thing that I agree with him on both counts. lol. I don't see the Vette guys liking Prowlers but I can live with that too. ------------------ |

Took out the Prowler today.... I decided to wave at all american muscle/performance cars. Got one wave out of 5 vettes. I guess most of them just dont get it. Did get several others that waved back in other cars... but the vettes seem to be out of it down here! ------------------ |

I was at another show this past weekend, plenty of beautiful cars and true automotive enthusiasts of any age. I mean it too. This 4 year old comes up to me with his parents and starts telling ME about the car... I was so impressed with his knowledge that I asked him if he ever sat in one... Boy did his eyes light up. You should have seen his smile behind that wheel too. A little later in the day, while I was standing there next to the Kat & talking to a friend, this Vette punk barks out under his breath... "Shoulda bought a Vette" as he walked around the front and started to pass me... Here we go again... I was going to let it pass as I always do. BUT. Maybe it was from being in the sun all day, maybe it was because the Yankees were losing to the RedSucks... Maybe I just did not like the smirk on his face or the way his Mom dressed him that morning... My Prowler pride came bursting out... With a mannerism of a proud lion & nothing but class. I unleashed "the lion" and with a precise attack on the ego of any Vette lover... I immediately gave him a verbal lashing and readjusted his attitude with some fine tuning... I made mention of the 500hp Prowler- the pride of the unrelenting Silverbullet & other Quarter-mile killers with the addition of just a few mods... Of coarse pointing out the weight difference even of the Z06 and it's regurgitated lines and form. He came back with, "Yeah, well I can do the same mods and go even faster then that... (My Daddy is bigger than your Daddy... ) Then I asked him... "Yeah? You plan on turning the wheel?" I have always felt that the Vette turns like a blind Dog... Then the ultimate blow to his fading ego... "In thirty years from now, if you still belive what you do, come back with any Vette you want and we will see which car turns the most heads" - by the way... Ten minutes later, my Prowler took second at the show, another one took first... Vettes... No Show... On the way home, I traded a huge thumbs up with a hot yellow Viper heading the other way... Horns honking and lights flashing in a true display of class and affection, as a Vette quitely lumbered by... "In the jungle. The mighty Jungle. The Lion sleeps tonight. Oweembowa Oweembowa..." This thread is too funny!!! Just had this same thread on the SLP forum I chat on. Question was.... "Do you wave to other SS's?" Same remarks as here. Most everyone waves at other SS's, sometimes to Corvettes, but Corvettes don't wave back.... Looks like the same thing going on w/ Prowlers. I'd wave at another Prowler if I ever saw one while I was in the Prowler. I drive it to work occasionally. I get some people that look and you can read their lips "What kind of car is that???" Then you get others that won't even look your way. Tim and I own a Corvette, but never wanted to join Corvette clubs because the people always seem to snobby. We get the wave from other Corvette drivers when we are in it. ------------------ |

My hand gets tired waving and giving thumbs up to everyone. Yes, I tryt to talk to all Prowlers, wave to Vipers, Vettes (if they are looking) and anyone that waves. I think I am going to get one of those cardboard hands on a spring that will mount on the dash in front of the steering wheel and paint P O A on on it. ------------------ Driving my Dream |

It's funny. The reason I started this topic was to talk about what cars we all might wave at. I didnt realize that so many of us had the same experiances with Vettes. I own a Vette too.... I go to alot of Vette meets also, and let me reassure you guys that not all Vette owners are lacking brain cells.... But I will admit most of the Vette guys asked me "Why would you get a Prowler when you could have got a Z06 or a Conv. Vette." My answer is ... I wanted something more special and different. My close friends that have ridden in the Kat learn quickly.... they see what the Kat is all about. Smiles per gallon! ------------------ |

C5 When I first bought my car back in 2000, I quickly learned about the smile per miles & I waved to everyone & I still do, even little kids on a big wheel or somebody walking by... Vette owners did always have an attitude, but I waved anyway. I quickly learned... I just don't deal with attitude problems and unprecedented overblown egos, no matter what they drive... You are right that not all Vette owners are like that, & I apologize for stereotyping them, but I have only came across two who would wave back... Actually, one was just a nod. To better answer your question, I wave back to anybody who waves, honks, flashes, or shows respect to me. I will also wave, honk, flash any car or bike that I respect and appreciate.

Wild Bill I agree with you! Now you know why I am on this site so much and not on the corvetteforum hardly at all anymore. I think I have nearly 2000 posts on the corvette site too. I was really into them for a while... but seems that faded quick. I have had my Cobra for 8 years... IMO it's still my favorite performance car on the road! Yes thats right, I rate it over my Vette. The Kat is the coolest car on the road! ------------------ This message has been edited by C5 Frank on 06-06-2002 at 10:21 PM |

Many Bikers in CO waved and gave us the thumbs up. I wave to Bikers, Street Rodders, Vipers, Muscle Cars (especially Mopars) and all collector cars. Hell I wave to everyone. ------------------ |
