I'm still pinching myself... We feel so privileged to own this last piece of Prowler history!! The entire collection of cars will be soon be available 24-7 via webcams in the museum. The museum should be completed in the next 30 days and all of the Prowlers will be available to personally visit by appointment. Again, we feel so honored to get this last piece of Prowler history and we promise to share it with everyone! Thank you all for your support, what more can I say, I'm in tears. ------------------ |

We would have loved to see the car go to raffle instead of auction, and we're very thankful that the proceeds will go to the Multiple Sclerosis chairity, but in my humble opinion it would have been nice to see the car go for raffle to the luckiest bidder. ------------------ |

Mike and Judy, congrats. There is great comfort in knowing that the last of the Breed will have a terrific home...almost like Secretariat being put out to stud...and not just be a temporary prize to someone who cares less about the heritage and legacy of the Prowler! I disagree with you regarding a raffle..this is the way to guarentee a loving home. This most certainly completes THE exquisite and most unique collection. ------------------ This message has been edited by MIKE GATLIN on 05-18-2002 at 09:08 PM |

MK - I have some pic's for you from the auction. I was there, setting right in front of the person you were talking to on the phone. Right before you hung up the phone w/ him, I asked if it was Mike on the other end. He smiled just a little bit, and then said he couldn't reveal the name. The entire Christie's staff conducted themselves very professionally. There was 3 rep's from DC and Patricia from the MS Society setting next to me. The other person that was bidding against you was also placing bids via the phone. Your bids were merciless. They opened things up at 25K, some bids came from the floor, and boom 75K, a few bids from different phone in people, then 125K, 150K & the final 175K. Congrats'!!! I am so glad that you got the car. You may have to detail the entire car. It has been setting outside in the rain without a covering, for at least one night. There were some water spots on the corners of the frame. All else looked great. The Time Capsule will probably be shipped inside the car, according to the person that was notarizing the title from the MS Society & DC. Even with the rain, it was a great day. Again, I'm so glad that you are the owner. I'm sure that a lot of us would have loved to owned this specific car; but, how many of us would be able to put it aside in the manner that you are doing? Happy Prowlin'!!! ------------------ |
