NO IT'S NOT MINE BUT CHIP FOOSE'S CAR! ABSOULOUTELY BEAUTIFUL! he put in a corvette lingenfelter 383 ls1 which produces 450hp at 6,100rpms and 440lbs of torque at 4,900 rpms, they used design cues from 34 ford roadster, they modified frame to support corvette transaxle and suspension it has the corvette c5 six-speed transaxle, independent rear suspension. They added 3inches to wheelbase, made longer a-arms to improve high speed stability. They used a 33'34' grille, the fenders longer, tailights, skirt in back, ferrari leather interior, shape of front hood different. THEY SAY IT RUNS 11.80 BETTER THAN 115MPH'S now put a supercharger or nitrous on this puppy, and say "lucy i'm home" This message has been edited by WILD THING on 03-19-2002 at 08:40 PM |

Wild Thing.........you need to take the spaces out of your jpeg file name and upload them again, i.e. " take the spaces out of v8 prowler 1. it should read v8prowler1.jpg and then it should work! ------------------ Classic/Beautiful - I'm referring to the Cat of course! |

If I had the money to build one of those, I would keep the car as stock appearing as possible. I think the Prowler has an awesome blend of old Hot Rod and new racer... Now that ride looks more old then new..my 2 cents worth. ------------------ |

Wow, I was wondering what type of motors could be thrown into the Cat. Never thought an LS1 would fit. Very cool. |

when one waters heavily with money, don't be surprised what grows... I wonder if they offered the old motor to Gary C, he'd not have had to go to the "rentaprowl" dealer. ------------------ |

Don't get too excited. The frame on this Kat is heavily modifed. I loosley quote from the article. A 3 inch stretch was too be added to the wheelbase to shorten the nose overhang and improve handling. This meant new A-arms had to be cerated to make these changes possible, without redsigning the whole front suspension. A new cross member to support the nose of the V8 was also added. A complete redesign of the rear of frame was also required. ------------------ |

John - I thought you were already building an awesome modified Prowler. Don't tell me you are already not satisfied by just reading one magazine article. ------------------ Driving my Dream |

who me?, no when i'm done it will be a look that is different and definitely fun to drive? but i do appreciate when someone takes the time to customize their cars, however much and those like this car that go extreme. i think i will be a happy medium when done, question is when done? At the same time i've been drumming up some other ideas, and putting them into plan, i think i've done so much research that my brain is about to explode!!!!!!!!!! |
