Have you looked at www.prowlerpro.com this morning? With addition of fogger system and highrise TB (along with gears and headers), they say they turned a 11.94 time. Marc - are these the mods you are getting? Happy Prowling Marty ------------------ |

Looks interesting. Were those times with street tires? ------------------ |

Was that time corrected or actual at the strip? |

Under their FAQ it says it was at sea level with street tires. I emailed them to ask for pricing because it does not list prices (why doesn't that surprise me?) My car is daily driver so I probably would not make these mods but it interesting to see what can be done - and dream about the performance! Marty, the time can be corrected to sea level. Sometimes a corrected time is not if fact the same time you can turn in a 1/4 mile. If I ran a correct time(actual 14.04) for my diesel truck at sea level when I was in Palmdale and the denisty altitude was 5855 ft, I would have ran a 13 flat. The next weekend I went to Carlsbad raceway when the density altitude was 1400 ft and ran a 13.80. Go Figure. Just thought you would like to know. |

Thanks for the explanation Gary. I knew there was a difference in performance, just like why I can't breathe as well when I am on top of Copper Mountain Ski Resort compared with on the beach in Cancun I hadn't thought about the fact that they may have run somewhere and other than sea level and then calculated adjustment - that was just what it said on their website. Hopefully they will provide some additional information, clarification, and pricing. Happy Thanksgiving Marty This message has been edited by Marty Usher on 11-21-2001 at 02:42 PM |

Thanks Marty, if we did a correct factor for Mike K's run of 12.15, he would be turning a 11.40-11.50. Mike the relative(density)altitude has 2450 ft, do the math, please. I wish my truck did a 13 flat. gggrrrr ------------------ GaryC@ProwlerOnline.com Diesel Ram Truck: 481.5 HP/ 951.2 Ft Lbs of Torque 13.80ET 99.82MPH |

I see that Dean at Prowlerpro has posted a thread of his own. It looks like it is a link to their webpage. Maybe you guys that know a lot more about performance than I do can make some sense out of what they have to offer. I emailed some questions to them from my office computer but will not be able to read any reply u til Monday.

Just bring it on down here to No Problem Raceway in Louisiana & I'll race it... We're pretty close to sea level (sometimes a little under)... And, I don't mind getting beat.... no corrections needed... bring it on.... ------------------ |

Marc/John - I sure hope I will be there next year in Colorado if you two actually get side by side!! The hard part for both of you will be to keep up the digs at each other for six more months!! Before I bought my Prowler, I thought I would be happy with the performance. I may never add enough mods to catch you guys but there is one smarta$$ client of mine with a Camaro SS that said my car was a "good looking SLOW piece of Chrysler junk" that I would love to beat. Yea Marty We both have as much ammunition as the US military. Only problem is some of it is top secret! I did fire a good shot at JD this morning. Delivered his wake-up call. I think he may be getting a little worried. ------------------ |

All right guys, I will get this thread back on topic AND give both of you another chance to respond and takes shots at each other, This is kinda fun!! Marc - what do you know about the new throttle body set up? Do you have any numbers from Prowlerpro on HP or torque without the fogger system operating? Having neither nitrous nor supercharger, it is interesting to hear you all defend the decision you made for which direction you chose? I assume both of you are still happy with your own particlar decisions on NOS vs SC? Marty |

Marty I love the nitrous. Only there when you want it, then is really strong, lots of torque. I like the SC too but just decided to go with nitrous. I probably know just enough about Dean's system to be dangerous but after seeing it and riding in the car I think with his gears, intake, headers and exhaust, manifold-less nitrous, all very benign less risky mods the car would be as fast as John's car. Not really but it would be fast. JD |

Al, Don't you know, misery loves company. Did you ever see longer faces than the two of us at Crazy Horse for dinner. Our table mates were busy keeping any sharp items out of our reach. That's all in the past now and we're both ready to go racing if we can keep them together until then. I told Dean to put my name on the 1st new manifold. He already has the car at his shop and I figure might as well keep JD worried. Oh yeah that's right he's retired. ------------------ |
