AC - you missed a GREAT time! Some of the highlights: JD peeling rubber in front of all the tourists in Cambria - Got a standing ovation. Walking on 22K inlaid gold tiles around the inside pool. Seeing a different ceiling in every room of the castle. The Main Street Grille! Yuuuummmm Both tours were awesome! The castle looks completely different at night than during the day. Gina like Riley! Caravaning all over the place with an unending line of kats - it was AWESOME. Telling people it was a kit car Telling people we weren't in a car club - it was all a coincidence we were there Jim's hair when he doesn't have his hat on JD trying to snap embarrassing pictures of me for Dan Scaring the non-POA people on the tours - they were holding their cameras close to their bodies like we were going to gang tackle them or something. Making some of the non-POA people on the tours wish they were POA! Making the bus drivers laugh - as he is swerving to miss a buck. I will let JD talk about Ernie's seagull. Trying to get JD to drive faster! Meeting the OTHER Watsons It was fun to see all the people blown away by the prowlers - some said they had never seen one and then WHAM - there are a ton of them all at once. It was great to meet all these folks from POA - we had such a blast! We were not able to make the winery tour this morning but tried to catch up to them in the afternoon - we didn't get there until around 12:30 and they were long gone. It is OK because we had to be home around 3 and we didn't get home until 3:30 as it was. I am sure there is more I am not thinking of right now! IT WAS ALL GOOD! ------------------ This message has been edited by CWatsonJr on 09-23-2001 at 06:37 PM |

Yes, I forget,, we have a new "Road Kill" culprit. Ernie Lowe tried his best (not really) and finally managed to bring down a already wounded seagull. Limping out on the road trying to commit suicide. I was not there to witness, 4 other cars I think were there. But I do have a complete confession on film, plus the bird still wedged in the suspension, ghastly. ------------------ |

Home now and once again I can't believe what a great trip this was! What a great group of people ~ so many people to thank for all the things they do. Thanks to Tony & Angelle for putting together a great event. You did a great job and we all appreciate the time and hard work you invested. Thanks to Larry for arranging the tour of Jack Mendenhall's museum - that was really something. And thanks to Marty Craven for arranging the Eberle Winery tour & tasting. Was fabulous to see all my friends again and to meet new folks too. Zipper & "Glo" - you two are a kick; thanks for keeping me laughing. Jim Stallings.....there are no words. (lol) We won't even go into the story about the McClintock's house "specialty". I can't recall who took the picture of Angelle and me but would you please send me a copy? Thanks to everyone else for their good spirits, companionship, willingness to cruise in a color coordinated fashion, etc. :-) btw - got to view the video from Crazy Horse that Mike & Karen Gatlin put together. WOW! What a fabulous job and now I'm so sorry I missed out on that event. Now I know I have to make the next one! I know I've forgotten a thing or two here but the entire weekend was fabulous. Can't wait to do this again! ------------------ |

There must have been at least 25 Prowlers. I remember getting into the middle of them after the night tour and the line of kats was forever in front and forever in back as we were going down Pacific Coast HWY. It was AWESOME! As usual, I forgot my real camera so we bought a one time use - we have to get the pics developed and then I can put them on. Elvis didn't make it I was disappointed too! ------------------ |

I think you all understated how much fun the trip was to Hearst Castle. I don't know how to say it was more fun than you said, but double it. Even on the bus to the castle everybody was joking. You would think we were a bunch very close friends, come to think of it we were. This was an example of many people helping the group have a good time. ------------------ |

Hello Friends The trip was awesome as were all of our friends. We had a blast and are looking forward to many more outrageous trips. Thanks Debbie, you are a super person and alot of fun. Hey Larry maybe we can show these cats how to make a three hour run in 90 minutes ( maybe our cats are just a little bit quicker). Thanks Tony, you guys are the best. Ed, Ed, Ed, Ed... I thought everyone knew why the central and northern coast was cooler (not kewler) than the southern part of Calif. See it is like this.... The girls in SoCal love to go to the beach, sometimes in bikinis, sometimes, less... it stops traffic, heats up the engines, causes traffic to move slow, this in turn heats up the air which warms the water (and the beaches in turn) and so on... vicious circle. Gulp.... did I really type that??? ------------------ |

Cliff, my fault. My Atlas shows San Simeon is in the southern half of Cal., about 1/3 of the way up the coast. I need to get the US edition of this thing next time. lol. It was nice in VA. last week-end. ALL tops were down. Seriously, I did not realize that it was that far north of LA and I have been on the coast enough to realize there is fog and wind most of the time. I really was surprised to see all the tops in the pictures but now I get the picture. |

Ed, put your glasses on and look a little closer. Not all the tops were up. As those that went to Crazy Horse with us will attest, Cathi and I travel with the top down rain or shine. Better clarify that, the cat top. ------------------ |

Jim, I knew I shouldn't give Alley Cat my password. Now he is posting in my name and trying to get me in trouble. lol. I should know better than to generalize and say ALL the tops when it was just 94.7 %. I hope you can buy a top for your cat in the near future so that you can put it up. |
