I know it may seem to be a stupid question, but I've had my 2k1 Mulholland Prowler for about three weeks, and aside from the VIN number, I can't find any other identification numbers. I've heard mention, on these forums, of a VON number which has the day, month and year that the car was completed. I've also heard mention of a production number, such as X (being the number of the kat)/ Y (being the total number of kats produced that year). If these are indeed identification numbers on my prowler, I'd much appreciate any help in locating them for my records. |

Spyder, In addition to the VIn number, the other ID number that is useful is the MDH number, which tells the Month/Day/Hour that the car was assembled. This is located inside the driver's door on abar code sticker. It is a 6 digit number... Ex 071013 would specify July 10th at 1:00pm There is also a VON number (Vehicle Order Number), that used to be located on the original window sticker. Mine was "L4-VON 0002". Not sure what this means, but I believe it is the tracking number for the Purchase order from the dealer. ------------------ |

Spyder, someone will give you a better answer but this is a start. The von is on the sticker on the edge of the driver's side door. The last digits of the vin tell you the sequence (roughly) of what order the car was built compared to other vin. VIN is Vehicle Identification Number. Unfortunately Vipers and Prowler share the same line of vins. In other words the vin just before or after yours could be a Viper and not a Prowler. They also do not follow in perfect sequence but it is close. The VON can then sort it out after you get in the ball park. I will try to remember to ask at CAAP tomorrow to find out why they are not in exact order. They build 14 cars a day and they probably take the closest one and since they are all identical they don't have to worry about keeping them in order, in order to get all the options correct as it would be on most car assy. lines. My guess. |
