Alley Cat, NOW you think I have a car??? I put my left foot out on the ground, put my right hand on the steering wheel (tipped up) at about 10 O'clock (It also works at midnight or even later) and pull myself out while Sandy pushes. Getting out with the top up is a whole different kettle of fish. I hit my face on the window when I first got the car and actually bruised and cut the bridge of my nose but I don't brag about that a whole lot. Now I usually lean in and put the window down before getting in and lean in and put it up after I get out. Thank goodness the top doesn't need to go up a whole lot. On the motorcycle I stand on the left side and put my right leg over. If I do it the opposite way I am facing the back of the bike, but then the decals are facing the right way. |

Gotta be a lotta ways to exit a cat, but betcha us old guys with back trouble do it the simple way. First open the door (some folks forget that step) Left foot out on the ground. Right hand on top of steering wheel and left hand on upper side of seat back or on top of door jamb in front of deck lid. (Touching deck lid could make marks after a while.) By pushing with your right foot next to the drive shaft hump and pulling with both hands you can launch yourself up and out without hurting the cat or yourself. If you can do that much the odds are you won't fall on your face or knock yourself out by ramming your head into the car parked next to your cat. ------------------ |

Ed, sounds a lot like my 1st exit experience... the drivers door window kinda got in the way of my head. ------------------ |
