Mine has died twice; but, both times were after winter (4-5 month) storage. I use my radio a lot at shows, so I know that this put a large drain on the charging system. I'm sure that we all drive the car only short distances, which doesn't give ample time to recharge the battery. I've never had a problem when I go on long road trips, which is to say something more than across town or around the block. I've actually driven my car over 1000 miles in less than 24 hours a few times. ------------------ |

Here's what I've installed on all of my cars. This charger is extremely convienent, since it is mounted in the car next to the battery using an existing hole. Whenever I don't plan on driving the car for a while, I just pop the hood and connect an extension cord to the charger. The charger is electronic and fully automatic and is about $35.00 from Walmart. The part number is WM-1-12A and the brand name is now EverStart (used to be Schumacher).

My battery was dead after this past winter storage. I charged it in the spring and it has been fine ever since. I went ahead and bought one of the chargers that Mike recommended for next year. ------------------ |

I use battery tenders on my cars when not in use. I used to have batteries die all the time, I have cars that have batteries that are 5 years old and no proplems. Just when you get back if you are not going to use the car for a couple of days just plug it in. It will not over charge the battery, Pepboys carry them and the charges are $59.95 hope this helps. ------------------ |

Has happened twice, but I always leave the keys on the car and have actually left it on ACC (all the way back) by mistake. ------------------ |

Have never had a problem with my battery, even with winter storage. We use the Battery Tenders on the cat, truck, Jeep, pontoon boat, tractor that are in storage for the winter....no problems! ------------------ Classic/Beautiful - I'm referring to the Cat! |
