To add to this. When I get mine, I think I'm going to drill a few weep hole on the bottom of the assemblies to allow any moisture that does enter to escape. That was one of the problems, I could see water running around in there for days afterward.

Don't do it John!!!!!

Those of us, which are most of us, don't have this problem. If they fix it correctly it will be airtight, and no moisture will get in, and you will never have this problem again. If you make a hole you will always be letting moisture in the lens assembly when you wash the car, it rains or it is foggy. It will dissipate eventually but why make a problem.

Those of you that have this problem and are out of warranty and want to cure it could do as John suggests and make a hole to allow the moisture to escape.

I'm going to have to think about your reponse Jim, I can't see any water getting in if the holes are drain hole,, meaning on the bottom. As far as fog,,, I'm going to think about it.

I am having my lights replaced next week. Mine have only fogged up a few times during very heavy rain. Remember the weather just before Woodward last year - prime example. My car is over 3 years old, and the dealer didn't hesitate to make the change. Only problem, they won't let me keep the old ones as spares. They also replaced all 3 window gaskets on each side of the top. That drip drip drip on my elbow during wet weather or just after washing was becoming Chinese torture.

I just had my tranny worked on because the front pump seal was leaking / weeping. I notice that this started last summer. The 1st dealership I took it to said it wasn't a problem. I don't like spots on my garage floor, so after I moved, I had the new dealership look at it. Actually it was the place were I bought the car. Warranty took care of that too.

I would suggest that if any of you haven't purchased an extended warranty - DO SO! The cost of the convertible top latches is over $200 per kit, which is only one latch. If anything goes wrong, it will cost a small fortune to get it fixed. FYI.

There in

After all this time, and rescheduling, my new lights have been installed, along with the new hood props.

They even swapped over the one inch long flames decal that starts on the light assembly and works its way back. And put in my PIAA bulbs from my old assembly...

Thank you , thank you, thank you.

Happy guy here. And no Jim, I didn't drill the weep holes..

It took only a few weeks for my local dealer to get my replacement headlight assemblies. I went in to pick them up, and BOTH boxes had holes in them. The leading edge of the light assembly had poked through, and at least 1/16" of plastic and paint had been scuffed off. I'm still trying to get a face to face meeting w/ the regional or district DC Rep. The service manager doesn't have time to deal with me, or my issues.

The warranty replaced only 1 convertible top latch. Now I have 1 gray & 1 black latch. To only live in a area that had a GOOD DC sales/support/service.

Well I spoke too soon on not having a foggy headlamp went out to the car last night and the drivers side is ugly washed it for the first time since it was painted. Take it to the dealer today I guess.
