I read that March 17th is the final production day. St. Patrick's Day,,,,,,free green beer to the production line workers,,,last SSR to be painted Monahan Green Metallic and "stock red" leather interior, lol. |

Advice from a Chevy Dealer. Rebate may increase in March. Have them date the paperwork the 1st of Feb and if incentives change for 45 days in that timeframe, date it then. We'll see. Will visit the Dealer...... And the Green one with Red sounds like a Christmas present doesn't it ? Is the color Smokin’ Asphalt that purple/blue color? If so I like that color. What uear was chrome wheels standard? I winder if they will peel like the Prowlers chrome wheels? The SSR gets 15-19 MPG one the EPA? That stinks....so it actually gets 10-15 MPG. Does it require Premium fuel too? I think the SSR is a cool truck and the interior is one of the nicest I've seen from GM next to the GTO. ------------------ |

Thanks so much for all the advice .... I believe that the POA is the best online club ever.... and of course one of the best cars. John, PS. Ed - What should I tell Shelley..... ? I'm serious, she does not know.... same way I bought the Prowler and the Viper. ------------------ 2001 Orange, Mopar Exhaust, MTD Intake, Front and Rear Mud Flaps, Chrome Shimmers, Orange Prowler Logo Valve Caps, Ceramic Brake Pads, Prowleronline.com License Bracket, Eric Wolf Chrome Trans Cover, Mopar Hitch and Trailer. |

Thanks Ron.... I am trying to think of a way to tell her that will not get me in hot Water.... Actually, she has been GREAT with me. The Viper and the Prowler were both done without her knowing and, of course her approval........Both Great stories.... but she knows I would sell them all if she asked. Last year I sold the GTO and the 66 Caddy which killed me. They were both Great cars.... wonderful cars and I actually posted a for sale for my 1967 Firebird. Glad I kept it.... A/C - no need top hang myself...... I have a truck now, she would just drag me behind it. Only reason I got excited was that she LOVED them (I never knew) and she loves this color. SO I'll break it to her gently tomorrow........... I hope. ED, As always, you bring a smile to my face..... yep she has no idea about the SSR OR the Puppy....... You know about the SSR. Kids know we want a puppy - except for Shelley. I'll break it to her gently. Think that will work ? On one of these surprises she is going to break your neck, GENTLY. lol She seems to be a great gal and you seem to get away with murder, so I am figuring all is well that ends well. The puppy would probably have been an easier sell, however. Good luck. If you do not post for a month or so, we will understand. (broken fingers or worse) lol |

She now knows.... Ed, your right. She was fine with it. Unreal. I love the truck - drove it about 17 or 18 miles or so. It really drives nice and the Six Speed is very nice - easy clutch. But after driving the Viper you sure sit up high. And with the top up it is quiet. I paid about 5K less for this thing than I did the Prowler 4 years ago. And I got a deal on the Prowler then (38K) What a deal this thing is. Now maybe an Automatic Black when they drop ? Viper, Prowler, SSR.... I think they will be worth something in the future. John, Good Luck with the SSR. As per this 5 page post it has been a while trying to decide. Glad you got the exact one you wanted. I have yet to drive one. I will be finishing a large project next week so I will have some time to drive a couple of them. I want to try the six speed and the automatic. I love the two tone Ricochet Silver and Pacific Blue combo. Spring is coming. Charlie |

Charlie, Thanks....... I can tell you that the truck is really cool. I have to admire Chevy for building it. It rides nice, is very quiet, has every feature on it I could want (heated seats, memory seats, etc) drives good, and is really cool. And there are some really nice touches on it I am noticing. The Exhaust is excellent, the windows have the feature where they drop 1/4 inch when you close the doors, the radio has a "driver" feature that is cool, it is comfortable and it shifts wonderfully. Of course, the power Hard top is an engineering marvel. It is just cool. As an example, I did just show up with it at the house and thought the wife may be a little ticked. She got in, I showed her the top etc, hit the seat warmers and took her for a ride. She got out and said; " Now that one is cool". She likes the Prowler and "never wants to ride in the Viper again" (My fault). The SSR seems to be a well engineered vehicle that was just a bit too pricey. I would like to buy a Black Auto now..... If the prices come down much more I might. These things are cool. And I assure you I have never been a big Chevy guy.... My 2 cents. Most of the vehicles I have owned in the past 20 years were GM except the Prowler. I would have to find someplace to put it if I do get one. All the garages are full and we have a pick up in the driveway. I may have to get a lift and start stacking them. Good luck and I will keep you informed. Charlie |

John, I tried to google Cytech and any links I found to them did not work. The articles I read all rave about them. Are they still in business? Charlie |

I think they are - their Web site is no longer Valid. I had some initial problems with them but everyone else I spoke with did not. The lift has operated well and I couldn;t have all the cars I do without it......They can still be reached at 316-744-8068 I believe. Regards, John |

I was looking at this one. They had a local warehouse. I don't know if they still do. My father-in-law drives a truck for ABF and used to deliver to them. Charlie |

I looked at this one too.... somewhere in the POW archives, this stuff is all discussed. I'll see if I can find it.... Sincerely, John |
