John - I think condor's '05 was bought used with 13,000 miles. 39,000 for a loaded new SSR 6 speed is a good deal. I have had an '03 and now I have an '05. The '03 had a couple of problems with the roof, but it was a very early build. The '05 with the LS2 has been problem free so far. The extra power in the '05s make the SSR more entertaining to drive. Let us know if you pick one up. Steve and Debbie Thomas |

The SSR prices are dropping fast. Check autotrader.com or others. There were tree 2005´s at around $ 26000 in the adds over the weekend. Try Ebay and just use the dealers that are selling. That is how I got my '04 last June for $14k under MSRP. Island Dreams is the screen name for Reliable Chevy. I think they are in MO. but not real sure. They do sell them cheap when they have them. Don't be in a hurry and you'll see them in the $35K range with differing options. You may not want the chrome option except the wheels. The chrome will show all the fingerprints and the stain will not show any. Ed Morse Chevy in S. FL will sell them cheap too. May want to call them. A GUB (another prowler owner)got the same one I did with more options with an extended warranty for $2500 less than I paid a week later at Ed Morse Chevy. Good hunting! Wally |

Just about every Chevy dealer in our area have 3 or more SSR's on the lot. They are not selling as well as GM hoped. Be patient they will blow them out cheap the longer they sit. |

Thanks all.... Great Advice..... Agree. Islanddreams (reliable Chevy - a gentleman by the name of Billy Mork) told me that the chevy money on them goes to $7500 in Jan. It's at 5K now. The plant will shut down next year and the SSR will be discontinued. The Prowlers are holding their own, the GEN I and II Vipers are as well. These SSR's are off right now but the Vette Motor coupled with the 6 speed and 400 HP in 2006 will certainly be a collectable some day. And I Love the Aqua Blur color. Where is Ed Morse at ? I am in Orlando this week..... It looks like waiting is the thing to do.... From a dealer after I asked buy used or New: "I was selling new 2004’s in march for 27 to 29k used 2003 sold this last week to a dealer at 24k so I don’t know that you will save much on a used one cause retail on the 2003’s is 26k . .almost what I sold new ones for a year ago . ..your best bet is to buy new ones at great savings." That's a hell of a deal on a future collectible with 400 HP. I'll wait for an Aqua Blur and will buy when Price is right. I know the fifties and sixties were too cool, and I couldn't drive then..... but think about the American cars available now as opposed to when I grew up and got my licenses - 70's.... This is Muscle Car Heaven ! SSR, Prowler, Viper, Ford GT40, Shelby Mustang, Corvette Z06, SRT8 Charger.....heck, SRT anything ! Think about it. History does repeat itself and these cars, and trucks, while not at the top of their game now, will be. And if not, what great fun to own and drive them ! About two months ago I was looking at the SSR's. I found a new black 04 in Maine. They would sell it to me for $29,900. I thought about it for a while but decided to pass. The 04's have the smaller engine so go for an 05 or 06. They both run on regular gas and get simular milage. There is a new 06 in Pacific Coast Blue at a local dealer. This is a new color for 06 and looks nice. The color you are looking at is Aqual Blur. Charlie |

I average about 17-18 in and around town with some highway driving thrown in. 19-22 on the highway. Of course like the Kat it is real hard to keep the lead foot off the pedal especially at traffic lights and passing on the Interstate. This is the '04 300hp model. Wally |

Thanks Ron. I'm looking at a 6.0L dealer demo '05. MSRP sticker isn't on the window,,,they say list was $51,108. I'm thinking $30K, since it was a demo. Think I have a shot? Anyone. |

Let me know what you find out. 30K would be an incredible deal.....Was at the Dealer this AM. The one I am looking at is a 1SB with all the options - Trunk Liner, Cargo Net, Wind Screen, Running Boards etc. Loaded with 6 Speed. They are currently at $38,045. 17 miles on the truck. Waiting for a good used one with same options unless they can get down to around 35K.
