I bought my 04 about 5 months ago. They were dealing strong at the time to clear out the 04's. Now they have to clear out the 05's! The 06's will come later after everything old is sold. It doesn't seem that they are worried about the 06's , so stay with the 05's the want them gone..NOW!!!!!!!!I would think $34000 could but you any one you want now. I tried to upgade to the 05 but they want a lot already.Hope it helps. If you need a dealer who has inventory I'll give you mine. sandy g. |

AC, to be honest no on the flames. Now if they were the realistic flames, that would be great. |

Skip the flames and buy a supercharger for it if you get one. |

John - I was looking at a 05 with list of $50,060. I offered them $31K and they walked me at $33.5K,,,,so I'd say you have $1500 more for them to sizzle down. Offer $33K firm. Come up only if there is a shark biting your butt! Fight to the end over the last dollar,,,,,the American way,,,, You'll feel damn better when you leave with their SSR knowing they didn't make much on this one. Tell 'em >>>> Sell 'em or Smell 'em........... Brian L. - don't take it personal,,,,its a GM dealership, lol. |

A/C, Thanks for the advice - I know they will probably come down more - especially if these things continue to sit. I was thinking around 30K. But this one is beautiful and here in Dayton which saves shipping and/or a trip. At 33K it would be 5K less than I paid for the Prowler four years ago.... They may go a bit cheaper but this dealer has now sold two of the five they had this January - A Pacific Blue and a Yellow. Have this one, an 05 Yellow and an 06 Black Left. Won't deal on the 06 yet. For some reason the invoice I posted does not show the Gauge package.... and the car I am looking at has them. SO the invoice is actually $51,500 or so. At 33K that would be 18.5K off..... that's a good deal I think. No Shark biting me. I can wait and maybe an 06 - We will see. A GOOD REFERENCE: There was an 05 like this one on ebay two weeks ago that sold for $32,900 in one day and it didn't have gauges ($400), Windbreak ($350), Body Colored Accent Package ($1400), Cargo Netting Package ($220)or Customized Floormats ($85)so about $2500 in options. This may be a fairly good deal. At 33K it would be a VERY GOOD deal. I'll visit them tomorrow... Thanks ! I appraised the GM Cargo Netting option to be worth $20,,,, tops. They must be buying those things from the federal government, lol. I was thinking the gauge package was around $350? |

A/C, I think it's that real nice Bar that goes across the bed that costs so much....... Made of lightweight Aircraft Metal right ? I guess my question is, how is it used and for what ? The way it looks, how would it hold anything ? I traded my 2000Prowler with 35K miles even for a 2004 SSR with 3K miles a couple of months ago. I would have loved to keep the Prowler and buy the SSR but on a gov't. job salary that was not possible.I also needed a vehicle that would pull a trailer and do a little better as a daily driver. The SSR is no Prowler in both looks and performance off the line and general road handling, but then again I don't drive them that hard anyway. The Prowler definitely got more looks and thumbs up. My SSR is bone stock, and will most likely stay pretty much that way.I plan on keeping this one for some time and I'm racking up a lot of miles, so as far as investment-forget it. I look on eBay every once and awhile but never see an SSR or Prowler make the reserve price. Chevy dealers in this area (Northern Virginia) are not willing to bargain over the few SSR's that I have seen sitting in the lots, and forget trying to get a deal on a new one, maybe other areas of the country but not here! |

Oh yeh, forgot to add. There is more info on Prowleronline on the SSR than there is on the SSR Forum. Even though I no longer own a Prowler I still visit this forum everyday. It has been weeks since I was on the SSR forum. Very little helpful info and the general posting is boring ! |

One more time. That tailgate net thing! I own an SSR and I see absolutely no way that thing would be of any use, except maybe if you wanted to run a sideshow pitch the ball in the net win a toy game at the next car show or cruise nite! I'm finished now! |

How many SSR's have been built to date? How many does GM plan to built total by March 2006? ------------------ |

OK - Interesting. There were about 22,000 built so far. And I am told there are about 10,000 of them still out there. Judging by a search on the web that number is believable. So, for those that think the SSR is a failure, it has already surpassed both the Prowler and Viper (Gen I and Gen II) in units sold in less time. 2003 - 2006 model years. (Prolwer 1997 - 2002 and Viper 1992-2002)Why GM thought they could sell 15K per year is beyond me. I found that interesting. Here is the rundown from what I could find. 03 SSR Percent by Color (3416) 04 SSR Percent by Color (10676) 05 SSR Percent by Color (7279) ALL Model Years 2003 - 2005 - Per color Smokin’ Asphalt - 4970 Production numbers for 2006 through August 2005. 2006's made in July = 45
2004 = 10,676 2005 = 7,279 2006 = 426 (And I know they built more - just don't know the number but it has to be low) Grand Total - ALL Model years (thru 8/31/5) = 21,797 So the Aqua Blurr I am looking at is rare. Sorry - One more.... This one showed up on eBay - It is beautiful. It is Serial Number (they are sequential) 23286 which means that they have built at least that many. And the SSRFanatic site claims that this one is for sure the last 06 built before the plant shut down for Christmas. It opens back up soon I believe and they will build the final 300. So it looks like about 24,000 trucks will be built.
