The new radiator has been installed. I haven’t had a chance to thoroughly test it yet. Driving home with outside temp at 83 with AC running the temp gauge never completely reached halfway. The real test will be running 80 or so on the interstate on a really hot day.

I haven't received an answer from them. ACE is making one for me. Ten days to 2 week wait. Still waiting on ACE. RPL stopped at Superior and they are indeed still open and making Prowler Radiators. They had one on the shelf ready to go. They said they sell about one a week. They ONLY sell on eBay now. They never did acknowledge my call, which is kind of poor service but they shipped me one within an hour of Bob stopping there, so I would say that is OUTSTANDING service. More info to come when I get the one from ACE and do a side by side comparison, as far as how the LOOK.

Still never got a call from Superior but I did get an email about the domain name being available for Superior Radiator. I guess Ace is the place. Finally got a reply about the first ACE radiator and the owner is very happy with it.

I can't see my last post, edit.
RPL stopped at Superior. They are still in business, selling about one Prowler rad. per week. They had one ready to go so Bob bought it for me. $ 500 including shipping and it is on its way. They have 10 cores in stock and have to buy 20 cores at a time from their supplier. They only sell through eBay now. So if you need a radiator, look on eBay.
Ace is still making mine. I will post the final results later. I will take a few pics of them side, by side.

Update that I posted on another post. Today I tested the new aluminum radiator. Outside temperature 87, feels like 91. AC running . Driving around the temp gauge stayed dead center on half. Stopped at some long lights and the needle never moved At one I had to sit through two greens Got out on the interstate and ran 80 to 85 I accelerated hard up to 100 a number of times. The temp needle only went just above the half mark. Before on a day like today the needle would have been up around the 3/4 mark. I am a happy camper. Now I just need to get some work done on the Prowler trailer and we are ready for the drive to West Virginia.

I just looked on eBay. Prowler Store has them for about $ 950. Such a deal. It says it fits 97-02. I was under the impression '97 was different. Anyone know for sure? I thought the intake and outlets were both diff. on the '97. The thermostat is totally different for sure.
Who has first hand knowledge about the differences?

If only you knew someone with a 97 and a 2002? Let's wait and see what the Prowler GURU (spelled TONY) has to say.

Quality radiators are available from Superior Radiator in Mt. Clemens, MI. They intend to continue producing them. Superior is difficult to get a hold of. I'll be posting information to make it easier to purchase from them. Saw and paid for one today that was shipped to an owner here. They are currently $550 with plus just under under $50 shipping.

It has been 3 weeks since I ordered from Ace. I don't think they had the parts to even start it. I think they are waiting for a core. When I talk to them I am going to strongly suggest that they make a couple to have on the shelf. It is not that critical for me to get it really quickly but most folks aren't going to want to wait weeks to get one.
If you are buying a radiator, look on eBay and make sure it is coming from Mich.
Thanks again Bob, RPL.
Steve, DublinOH, I don't know if it is possible to see the differences while it is in the car. I will attempt to get them side by side to compare. It is hard to believe they are all advertising that they fit all years.

Superior Radiator in Mt. Clemens makes and will continue to produce radiators for Prowler. Cores are an issue and he has to purchase 20 at a time. This can cause a delay during the busy season. The shop exists and that they build the quality radiators in house.
He builds three Prowler radiators at a time and currently has 10 cores in stock. He has moved to an eBay sales model. The price is currently $550 plus just under $50 shipping to the lower 48 states. I am working on verifying his eBay sellers name. He lists three available on his eBay listing and has three scheduled for production. Currently he has been selling about one a week. We need to support this vendor.

Ed Monahan may have more information on Ace. I only have information on Superior plus feedback from a very qualified Prowler support person that theses radiators fit correctly and work well.

Guess what. About 2 PM I discovered the radiator from Superior was here. Just about 24 hours exactly after Bob bought it for me. Unreal.
I got a call today that the ACE radiator is ready. I don't have the price and I am supposed to get the radiator tomorrow. I will put them side by side to see if there are any obvious differences. It will get installed this Sat. or Monday. They are fairly backed up at the shop.

Thanks again Bob and I agree with his last post TOTALLY. I wish they had called me back, however. They need better communication but their service is outstanding.

The Superior radiator is a thing of beauty. A real work of art and there is a bleeder valve on the top. Those that had overheating problems know that will be a huge help bleeding the system. Thanks again for RPL for getting me such great service.
dissrad2 is the eBay name. Make sure it is coming from Mt. Clemmons, MI.

Glad that it worked out for you. Took care of two different owners that day. Prowler owners don't recognize nor appreciate the resources that are available through POA and it's free. Help someone else out that needs a hand.

I got my ACE rad. today. Looks almost identical with a couple minor differences. I am going to wait until I have found ALL the minor diff. before I post what I see. After it is installed I will post any difficulties encountered, if any. Both look fantastic, but that is not what most are concerned about, of course.
I again want to thank RPL and u00jts2 (Tracy) for all the help getting the radiators.
Again, anyone have info on the differences on the 97 rads?

The pins on top of the Rad. Not centered on the ACE, but I don't know which is correct yet. Pins are larger in Diam. I think and definitely longer.

They finally got to the Prowler on Wed. evening and finished it Thurs. morning. The mechanic said he dry fitted the ACE radiator and it fit fine. BUT, he preferred the Superior rad. because it had the upper bleed valve. It is on the driver's side, on the rear facing top surface, but not sticking above the radiator. He said it made for easier bleeding.
I have driven the car about 100 miles since then. It got to the midway mark once or twice, most of the time it was just below that mark. On Friday is was in the upper 80s and very humid so it felt worse than it was.
I have to agree with BeWare, it is a great fix for the problem.
The Ace will also work, if you prefer that one. Superior is in Mt. Clemens, MI and they don't answer the phone or return calls if you leave a message, however. You need to order on eBay so make sure it is coming from Mt. Clemens.
Thanks again to RPL for getting me lined up with them. I had it in 24 hours, almost exactly from when he paid for it. I sent him Paypal to cover it, of course.
Both rads. are works of art.
I had the timing belt and water pump replaced, the tranny fluid and filter changed, lube and oil done at the same time. I guess I am ready for a 4 1/2 hour drive to W. by God Virginia in Sept. That is next month already.

Just a follow up. I had had a couple of overheating problems in the past couple of years. Once in Texas last year. After putting in the new radiator, the timing belt, etc I got a couple of check engine lights for just a few seconds and then it would go out. It mostly happened soon after start up. Car ran rough at start up and then ran great after it was warmed up. The light would not come on at that point.
It showed a misfire on # 1 and # 5. They did some type of test and found there was fouling with some type of chemical. Turned out it was antifreeze fouling the plugs until it burned off. I had TINY cracks in the intake valve gaskets. I am going to bring them to W.Va. for show and tell. I hope I get the car back tomorrow. He called this evening but I missed the call. I hope it was to tell me to come and get it. This is on the Candy, 75,000 miles aprrox. The belt broke at 71 lbs of pull, most break about 125.
