My driver side mirror has circular scratches on it like someone tried to clean it with something too abrasive. Do any of you have any products in mind that could help get the scratches out? The're pretty deep...

I remember seeing a product that Eastwood made for that. I will have to look for that catalog, or maybe on their website.

REAL chrome polish (NOT "safe for any wheels", the original stuff with abrasives) mixed 50/50 with Windex is as good as any. Pop the glass off and power polish with a wool bonnet (remove so you don't hit the paint surrounding it).

Unfortunately, from your description, it only sounds like you'll soften the edges of the scratch and not be able to remove them.

Hmmmm... Well, can anyone tell me how to remove the glass, and if the glass itself can be ordered? I'd rather not order a while mirror assembly.... Thanks.

Catfish is right on that...I work for one of the top glass manufactures in the world...our company makes automotive glass, along with whatever sheet size glass one needs...if it gets scratched...it gets recycled...

Eastwood Company

I purchased one of their polishing kits while I was in Carlisle this year. I have yet to try it out so I can't give you a personal recommendation.

Thanks Alley Cat, thanks folks. I might look into buying the driver's side glass insert if it's not too much trouble removing and replacing.

you can most likely replace it yourself.buy the glass, take out of package and see how it attaches to motor.i do believe it unsnaps and snaps back in place.its the one thing ive not had apart yet.any body else ever replaced the morror glass.
