I'm working on a Pistol Grip gear shift....
No moving parts, just press down to shift

I will post some pics as I go through the process

1... Make the master ( I'm almost done with this)

Decided on a two piece master, gives me more control

2 Make a multi-use silicon mold

3 Select the best material to use in the mold, There are
many combinations from Clear to Colored, Flexible to
Rigid

4 See if the unit can be covered in leather and or made
from Carbon Fiber

I know the POA has some experts on Leather and Carbon Fiber

(John C and Dave Haggas and others)

This is a fun project for me and if I made them for others I would hope to do this for what it cost me plus 10% or just one for me...LOL

I think this is a very bad time to make aftermarket parts JMO

Don

Check this out...See how it done ... Enjoy

Just a thought. It would be cool to make a matching e-brake handle as well? So would various color options.

Thanks Willie and Rich for your comments

A few people emailed me why I did a two piece master..

Because I'm not putting a push-button on the unit, I need
to machine the inside of the master....

One this is done, it will be glued it together, to make a one piece master

And Like I said...this is a fun project, and if you would
like to copy or use any pics or info to do your own
shift knob..feel free

Don

I was asked what I made the master from, I used
Steel-Reinforced epoxy Putty...$6.00 a tube

Mix together, form your design this stuff is easy to form
When it hardened it can be sanded and drilled

If you make a mistake...just add more putty and make the fix

Sand to you get the surface you desire

I'm going to spray with primer....and sand again, for the best finish

Now you can make your Mold or do a Custom Graphics
Paint job, or cover with Leather etc.

More pics to follow.....

Back from Vacation...
Been working on a way to use
standard transmission gear shift knobs
on a Prowler

Problem..

The OEM gear shift knob attaches to the base shaft
and a uses a trigger to push down on the center shaft to
change the gear on the AutoStik Transmission

Solution..

You can use any gear shift knob with the use of an adapter
that fits over the base shaft with a spring
attaches (with hex nut) to the center shaft.
This will strengthen the center shaft.
When you push down on the knob it depresses
the center shaft to change the gear on the AutoStik

If you like the idea feel free to use it..Maybe make a donation to my new charity " Hot Tubs without Borders "

Don
