Wow.... It has that rare combination of both the 3.5 engine and the 4 speed automatic. Man, I rarely see that in a Prowler. And a low mileage one at that, I simply can't believe there are any out there with such low mileage, it must be worth at least twice your asking price. |

Sorry Dustin and no offense meant but you came to the wrong place to try and sell that car at that price. This group knows the market on Prowlers very well. Plus low mileage Prowlers are relatively plentiful. But it was worth a try. Nothing ventured nothing gained. Currently on Ebay 1999 Prowler 9,679 miles buy it now $24,900 Just to list a few.

I read the news on different web sites on a daily basis. It simply boggles my mind at some of the comments the readers make. They are so harsh and abusive. Even when the articles are about a party passing away. So today I read the post from dstyers concerning the 2002 Chrysler Prowler his company has for sale. Here is a man simply trying to make a living and provide for his family. Based on his ad, he seems proud and sincere about the vehicle being sold at the dealership (his job) where he is employed. I was sad to see some of the replies that members of this site posted following this man post. The attitude behind them fell nothing short of the comments left by readers at the news site I read on a daily basis. I often think "If you were in person, would you say that" In addition, if someone addressed you the same way about your job, how would that make you feel. I am simply embarrassed for this site. I have always believed this site was above and beyond this sort of negative expression. I know some of the comments were in jist. But if you read the whole dialog, you would see how this might make Dustin feel about posting on this site ever again. He, Dustin, was simply bringing us a vehicle for sale. To make the member of this site aware of the vehicles presence. I am sure, he DOES NOT set the price of the vehicle. He only makes the vehicle aware. I love this site. Please guys, Dustin, is simply doing what he does for a living. Keep Prowlin Dudes This message has been edited by adacus on 02-15-2019 at 05:01 PM |

Keep in mind that this topic was from someone using their first post to try to sell a car. No introduction, and apparently no research was done. Why would an informed seller bother to advertise which choice of engine and transmission the car has when there were no others available? I don't generally have a high opinion of used car sales people because unfortunately a large percentage of them are not to be trusted. While the individual posting this vehicle may be genuine and only be trying to do their job, stating to obvious is bound to get reactions such as the ones posted. Maybe by introducing themselves and providing a little history of the vehicle being advertised (If known) along with a few more photo's would have been a good idea. At least the term "Rare" wasn't used to describe the car. A link to the dealer's website might also be beneficial for those who might have a genuine interest in the car. As I stated earlier, I sincerely hope that a good caretaker can be found for the car. |

I agree with Rich. And this car likely has not been maintained if it has not been driven. Likely still has run flats which, if so, would be unsafe to test drive IMO. May very well still have the first and only oil ever put in it. caveat emptor This message has been edited by OkieHokie on 02-15-2019 at 07:31 PM |

I called Dustin just to let him know about the Run Flat Tires, Belts, Hoses, Gaskets, Stabilizer Links and Hood Shocks. I have been to many Car Dealers that know nothing about the Prowler saying its in mint condition. Then finding Holes in the top, Stabilizer Links need to be replaced and so on. My 2 cents |

I hope he sells it for that price and more. It only helps the rest of us on the value for our cars. My 2000 runs like a new car and still has that new car smell. I would not take less than $35,000 for it. |

quote: Completely agree ... and to have those that know little to nothing about cars chime in and provide dealer advise is humorous at best. Frankly, if he has a local that comes in and takes the car at o near his asking - guess where I will go to sell my car - certainly not here, where the price is bashed down time and time again. Either sell in Ohio or put it in a vault in Tulsa, where then it will be with over $200k!! |

This is Hilarious, I realize the guy is doing his Job and thinking outside the box as far as getting the word out. Lets break this down: New Care Taker will pay $33K plus tax, tag, title. Then they will have to do all the expensive maintenance listed below: Flush Radiator That's just to start enjoying the Kat. The price tag will be over $40K No..Thank you. What about these items, and have they every been replaced: Hopefully the Kat will find the right Care Taker. |
