Ray and Gayle Bartels planned a cruise to Schulenburg to the histotic painted churches, La Grange, including the bluff, and back to Columbus on a winding road. They are planning on June 16th. You don't want to miss this one, folks. We'll have some really fun back to back S-curves. We've been down these curves a few years back and everyone agreed it was one of the most fun cruises we've ever done. (A word of caution: if I remember right, a couple of the curves are blind curves so drive safe and don't swing too wide.) Details are going out in an email along with contact info. Mickey, thanks for posting. I have heard the trip to Schulenberg to visit the historic churches is well worth the ride. It should be an interesting and fun cruise for all the Texas Prowler Owners, and I am looking forward to it. |

Hello everyone. For the local group, I'm moving the usual meet place from the Chevron at 290 to Sam's parking lot at the corner of I-10 and hwy 6 for those wanting to katavan out to Columbus. We can meet in the Sam's parking lot on the hwy 6 side of Sam's (right side as you face the front of Sam's) at 8:15am. Sam's is on the north side of I-10. We will leave there at 8:30am, as it is about an hour drive out to Columbus from there. I hope everyone can make this cruise. We may even have someone coming from Dallas for this one. For those not planning to katavan out to Columbus, when you take exit 696 and turn right, you'll come to a fork in the road. Take the fork to the right to pull in to Schobel's on the left. |

Mickey, As of right now, we are going to try to make this trip. Our plan is to stay in a hotel near Sam's and meet you at 8:00 Saturday morning. It has been too long since we have been to the Houston get togethers. |

I'm looking forward to this. It looks like we'll have about 15 cars for this one. It looks like it's going to be hot so be prepared for that. Weather reports are showing a 30% chance of rain for Saturday. I talked to Gayle today and she will let me know Friday morning if this is a go or will be rained out. The rain out date will be the following Saturday June 16. After I hear from Gayle, I will get an email out letting everyone know if it is rained out. |

So far Accuweather is saying 60% chance of rain. I hope not, we are ready to get the cars out, but it is getting very dry here again. |

Saw tonight that now they are saying scattered showers friday and saturday. Sounds a little better, but all along the bulk of the rain was to be to the west heading our way. It's down to 40% chance but that's not good. Front is expected to blow thru saturday and start clearing on sunday. Be prepared for a rainout this weekend and keep an eye on your email Friday. I'll try to get one out in the morning but may not get the chance from work til lunch. On another note, after this is done, I'll be getting out an email on another upcoming event. This will be a short notice night time cruise taking place around July 7th for a worthy cause. We'll call it a Midnight Cruise. I will need a quick commitment on that one as I will need to make some quick arrangements. Details to come, but giving you something to consider in the meantime. 6pm on 6-7 shows back to 30% but still not clearing til sunday. Sorry folks but mother nature has other plans for us this Saturday. Appearantly she would prefer we all stay inside and do laundry. This Saturday's cruise is rained out and is rescheduled for next Saturday June 16. Hopefully the weather will be more co-operative next weekend. We had alot of people coming to this one and I hope everyone can make next weekend, and maybe a few more that couldn't make it this weekend. |

Heavy rain hit us all the way to Houston Friday evening, and that was supposed to be the forecast today, but as you guessed, there has been nothing on the radar all day. That's Texas weather, you never know what it's going to do! |

Well, as sad as it was to reschedule last weekend, I'm very happy to remind you that this Saturday the cruise will take place! The plan is the same, just a different day. Those that can and want to, meet me at Sam's as discussed before. Those meeting everyone in Columbus, we'll see you there! Load your sounds, don that sunscreen, don't forget your hats if you're taller than your hair, dress comfortable, bring along a little water to drink along the way, drop your tops, gas up, and come on out for a guaranteed great time! I'm figuring on about 20 cars. We're anticipating a couple cars coming from the Dallas area, a couple cars from the La Porte area, and a rider from Schulenberg meeting us in Columbus. We should have plenty of empty seats for her. Those that know Phil from California on the POA (phil2237), it's his daughter. We've got 'em coming from all over for this one! If anyone has any questions, you can contact Ray or Gayle at the contacts listed on the itenerary. I hope everyone can make it! See ya' there! |
