UPDATE! UPDATE! PLEASE BOOK YOUR ROOMS NOW OK - in order to get a "group" rate the hotels want a block of 10 rooms or more and if less are booked then the price goes up and someone has to make a deposit plus the saving is only $3 to $5 a night so my suggestion is just book directly on our booking engine. Everyone can make and pay for their own reservations; no one will have to place a deposit or be responsible for paying if the minimum number of rooms is not booked; AND we will make a donation to POA from he commission generated. My suggestion is the Hampton Inn West in Columbus Ohio at $82.00 for Tuesday June 12 and the Fairfield by Marriott in Fenton, MO at $89.00 for Wednesday June 13th. Go to www.ushertravelandvacations.com , click "hotel only", enter the city and date, click "Search" then find Hampton Inn West on page 2 for Columbus and Fairfield Inn by Marriott for Fenton. NOte: when you select the hotels there are also listings for nearby hotels on the right hand side of the page if you REALLY want to stay somewhere else but be close by. Having a hotel on the West side of Columbus will allow you to miss rush hour traffic as you leave the next morning. Likewise, Fenton is on the outskirts of St. Louis and you will be driving away from the city when you depart the next day. Marty
Let's hear from everyone and see what we can put together. It will be here before we know it.
We need to get booking soon. I will let this run until the end of March. Thanks List of those booking rooms

If we can agree on a path and times, we can book our overnight stay ahead of time. |

MD, your map didn't go far enough south. I will have to go through, let me say this softly, Alabama, and I won't have room for flowers! We will meet you there in Tulsa. |

GREAT - Now you're coming directly through Louisville so I won't have to drive to Indy alone to meet up with the caravan! |

Mar"T"y, when we book hotel rooms along the way, should we book through you? It looks like two overnight stays out and back. This message has been edited by MDProwler on 03-08-2007 at 10:15 PM |

I think we are planning on leaving on Wed. to head to TULSA, as long as we get to go fingers xxed. Let me know if you are planning on staying in or around Indy. There is major road construction on the east side of Indy on I 70. I went thru it today with not much problem, but the exits are closed and Hotels on the east side will be hard to get to. I can give you heads up on place to stay and best route to avoid construction. I would recommend staying on the west or south side of Indy There is a nice place at Shadeland and I 70 that I normally suggest for POA travelers on the east side of Indy. If interested let me know. All shadeland exits are closed so getting to this one will take directions. |

The last time out there (dells) we stayed In Richmond, In at the Ohio border. Thats about 9 hours from my house. We will have people coming from farther northeast and some farther west. I hope we can make it work for everyone. |

If the group stays in Richmond that is about 1 hour east of Indianapolis eastside. An extra hour sleep for me...hehehe as I mentioned before about the road construction NO TRAILERS ARE ALLOWED THRU THE CONSTRUCTION ZONE Looks like the group will have to take the trucker detour I-70 west to 465 south (on eastside) to I 65 North back to I-70 west in downtown or to follow 465 all the way back around to 70 west (on westside) |

Just a thought. If Indy is under construction, would Cin-Louisville be a reasonable alternate route. Comes out as one hour longer. I would think construction detours would be about half an hour at least. |

Times a wasting folks! Who's heading to Tulsa from the east. We have rooms to book. Don't wait until the last minute. You can always cancel but if we fill a hotel you may be left out. PLEASE Post here if the route on the top of this thread is the way you are traveling. |

Gary When we went to the St. Louis event, we stayed on W Leffel Ln (hotel alley) in Springfield Ohio. That's 9+ hrs from the Ocean. Richmond would be another hour. (doable?) Then Springfield Oh to Springfield Mo would be another 9 hrs, 1 hr less if leaving from Richmond. Then the cruise into Tulsa. |

Anywhere in that area or Springfield, Ohio to Richmond, Indiana sounds like a good stopping point between the East Coast and Springfield, MO. That would leave less than hours the next morning to get to Tulsa. So, is this correct - East Coast to Ohio/Indiana border area Tuesday June 12 How many rooms do I need to reserve in each city? |
