While cruisin' around last weekend, my wife looked down at the passenger door switches (window and door lock) and they had fallen (dropped?) down into the space under them in the door...looking into the resulting square holes where they were, I can see them about an inch down... Possible fix: take off panel that the switches mount in, pop switches back in and reinstall panel... Does anyone know how the panel is attached? How to get it off without breaking something? Any trick to get it back together? Thanks for any help! |

I FOUND 2 WAYS TO TAKE THE DOOR PANEL OFF. THERE IS A TOOL THAT YOU SLIP BEHIND THE DOOR PANEL AND THE DOOR IT WILL POP OFF OR JUST PULL ON DOOR PANEL, THE PLUGS COULD BREAK, I TOOK OFF MY DOOR PANEL SEVERAL TIMES WITHOUT THE TOOL NO PROBLEM, ALSO I TOOK A SMALL REGULAR SCREWDRIVER AND POPPED OUT THE COVER FOR THE SWITCHES THEN REACHED IN AND POP THE SWITCHES BACK IN. THE SWITCH JUST POPS IN GOOD LUCK ITS PRETTY EASY.i forgot about the 2 screws up front on the door panel and the screw in the door handle cup, also the mirror switch sorry RICK This message has been edited by meandmykitty on 05-24-2005 at 10:30 PM |

Bob - the door panels come off with the removal of a couple of screws & the hand recess. Plus you pop off the bezel on the door handle. Then you can pop the panel off. Norm & Pat - "pumkin" have a detailed account with pics I hope they will post for you |

to remove panel.remove 2 screws at frt, remove 1 screw from arm rest.to remove handle bezel where you open the door, use something thin like a putty knife, gently slide under frt edge, and push bezel backwards, and it will pop off,do not pry out on it or its history, push straight back towards rear of car.next take putty knife and insert at bottom of panel at about center of door and pry panel out and work your way towards the rear of car.you will hear and see the panel pop loose.when loose pull out on bottom edge and lift up to remove from door.to remove completely ,unplug mirror and window switch. ------------------ |

Thing is Bob, the switch assembly lifts up off the panel. Seems like if you can get the switch housing up, (spring loaded front and back), you can reach for the actual switches without taking the whole panel off. Good luck |
