Sounds like the same as mine. I had some custom painting done, and assumed that it is overspray. I'll check mine closer in the morning. |

Check your car real good for prior body damage since use of body grinder spraying the sparks on to glass will do this. Most good shops cover these areas but some dont. |

quote: Roni, You can remove most any stain with Zaino Glass Polish. If it won't remove the stain, you can use a circular (NOT orbital) buffer and some rubbing compound. That will remove anything on the glass. Ed Holler |

Yep.....have the same thing on mine. At first I thought it might have been through some kind of what looked like a sand storm. But it's between the two sheets that make the wind shield. My guess is that it's dirt or dust or some other kind of contamination. It only shows when driving into direct sunlite.Who ever was the vendor for the wind shields....poor quality control. |

I recently noticed the same problem. I thought it was pitting on the outside from little rocks or something, but they can't be felt from inside or outside the glass. I have a couple friends in the glass business and I will ask them about this. My guess would be air in the glass itself. Will let you know what I find out. ------------------ |

I just talked to my friend. She said that windshields are 2 pieces of glass with a layer of lamination in between them. You can have something small penetrate the outside layer but not go all the way thru to layer 2 (the inside layer of the outer glass). This would cause what we are seeing, but you would be able to feel something by running your fingernail across the location on the outside. I feel nothing. I asked if there was any way air would get in between the layers during the making, (mine looks like little air bubbles inside the glass) getting heated up by the sun over time, expanding til they are more noticeable, and she said it might be possible, tho VERY unlikely. That it would only POSSIBLY happen if something like the above were to occur. She said it COULD be defective glass, depending on who makes it, but again, this is unlikely as most all windshields are of high quality, unless replaced at some point with a cheaper glass that's not PPG glass. I will show her what I am talking about next time I see her and let her see for herself that you can't feel anything from the inside or outside of the windshield. I seriously doubt DC would replace these under warranty. If I find out more on this topic, I'll keep you informed. How often have you seen a vase, or something like that, with little air bubbles in it somewhere? It happens, but then again, thats usually blown glass that it happens with too. |

Try taking a piece of "Saran Wrap" and wraping it around your hand (just one layer.) Then rub your hand gently over your clean windshield. See if you can feel anything that way. Ed Holler |
