Since the fuel filter is no longer available, has anyone tried to retrofit an after market fuel filter to their prowler?

For what it's worth, my mechanic, when doing my fuel pump replacement, found a Dodge van with the same fuel filter with the three lines.....if anyone needs the part or Model of the van, let me know....

I don't think there is a direct fit ...
You would have to alter the lines.
They are not pliable so unless he is altering the fittings in some way .....

prowler

dodge

parts guy bill carries right one unless you break the line .
You only need to back wash prowler filter and re use.

My mechanic and I went through a lot with this issue. We ordered a Dodge Caravan fuel filter and he considered modifying it to fit my 99 Prowler...as Robin implied, the mechanic determined that modification of the fuel lines would indeed be required to make it fit. He became uneasy with fuel line modification as the pressures involved were a safety concern. We sent the Dodge filter back, and I bought a 2000+ filter from Bill ("parts"). Bill was not sure that he had one of these, but he was able to find one. The external fuel filter is a rare part for any year of Prowler, and is actually different on the 1999 vs. later years. We made the 2000+ part work without line modification. I am glad to hear Tom is working on this. There is not really an alternative except for a reproduction/custom unit made by interested party, one who has talent. Tom is one of the few who have such talent.
