I have a consistent hissing-like noise around the manifold area (sounds like a vacuum leak...) The Plymouth tech says this is normal for the 3.5V6 (M300 / Prowler). Is this normal?

Hi Dave, Glad you found the POA
mine is very noisy to, sounds like it's sucking a lot of air. runs just fine so it must be normal.

Hi Dave and welcome to ProwlerOnline.

A loud hissing sound is not normal. The only thing I hear under my hood is the sound of air being sucked into the air filter.

Try taking a small hose (like fish aquarium air hose) and put one end to your ear and move the other end around the entire intake manifold to locate the leak. The intake manifold is made of plastic, and may have a hairline fracture.

I hope this helps. Let us know what you find out.

I tried the aquarium hose and it worked well but I didn't find any cracks. Most of the air volume seemed to be coming from just behind the manifold but not emanating from the air cleaner assembly. I will keep looking and will approach the dealer again about the TSB. Thanks for the help.
