The front left hand running light and side marker intermittently are On or Off. The right side is constant, but the left only works when it wants to.

Is this a fault that anyone has seen before and give me a shortcut to fixing it?

Happy Easter!

When you put your clear lenses on did you change the bulbs to amber? If so check to see if they are compatible with the white OEM ones. Oh! did you remove your bumpers and install a mills running light kit if so you may have reversed the wiring harness that came with the kit they are meant for and should have been marked R/H L/H if I recall.

I have amber lights, but this has been a problem for a couple of years now.

I thought while I've got the side panels off...

I'm sure you have checked the wiring and bulbs. Hows the hazard lights are both sides working?

I did not realize this until last week. Sandy's PT (2010) has running lights. When you turn on your turn signal the running light on that side of the car goes off so that oncoming traffic can see the turn signal better, I presume.
She was behind me and I noticed a light was out. We were turning right. Then they were both on and then we made a left turn and the other side was off.
That is the first car we owned that had running lights. Also the taillights are not on when running lights are lit.

My 04 Trailblazer has running lights. They come on when you turn the key. I asked if they could be disconnected. They said yes but I have since been told no. I would rather decide when I need lights on for myself. With them on all the time they just burn out the bulbs faster.

@Jim,

It's not the bulbs as both the light in the bumper and the wing / fender go off together. It must be in the wiring somewhere and most prob at a connection point, but where to start?!

These are totally diff. bulbs than the regular headlights on this car. Not as bright.
