Hi all,

I'm planning to do a service on my 2000 Prowler.
Car has only 2397 as I'm typing, but I'm getting worry about belts snapping or water pump failure.

Since owning the car, engine oil and spark plugs were the only stuff done.

Living in a very humid and hot place, I think it is time...

We do not have Chrysler dealer in my country, so I will have to order everything from the USA. I would like to have some help on parts number ( I heard some change ) and since the car will go on a full service some advise are welcome to save me time if I forgot to include something in my listing or something I should do while pulling that or this.

What I'm thinking doing so far:

Transmission filter package:
4796730 x 1

Transmission pan gasket:
***part number will be great ***

Transmission sensors:
4800878 input x 1
4800879 output x 1

Windows Seals:
4897898AA x 1
4897899AA x 1
4897900AA x 1
4897901AA x 1
4897902AB x 1
4897903AB x 1

Wheel Center cap ( chrome )
4865352AA x 4

Accessory belt
4573013AB x 1

A/C belt
4663950 x 1

Timing belt
4792353 x 1

Tensioner Belt
4573347 x 1

Tensioner pulley
4663515 x 1

Water pump
*** part number will be great ***

Thank you for your time,
Olo.

Look at this link for center caps.

If you are looking for extras, that is a different story but if you need some repaired, this would work. I do have some extras that have been updated.

for the trans pan, donot use a gasket, use a product called---the right stuff, comes in a can similar to cheese whiz and will never leak.available just about anywhere.change to mobil one oil.theres no such thing as a tensioner belt.why do you think you would need window seals.chrysler makes the best seals out there,w/a litte care will last 40 yrs or more.i use a product called-rubber care-made by wurth co.use on all weatherstrips.www.wurthusa.com-part# is-0890 110-u.bty the 6 seals are over 600.00 bucks .water pump # is 4792195.use zerex g05 longlife coolant and you will need 2 hoses.sooner than later you will experince a emission hose failure/lite on on dash and emission lite code.the rubber/neopreme hoses get dried out and crack, causing the above lite.id replace all th hoses at the rr charcoal cannister, you will have to make these hoses to fit,n/a from chrysler.ive already replaced all of mine.there are also some hoses up frt at the engine.since your in a area that has no chrysler dealers,id suggest buying the main 5 inch thick purple manual.many on ebay right now.there worth every cent.also if your car came with a owners manual,READ IT.

The center cap look great, I hope I didn't throw the old one!

I'm planning to replace the windows seal because both of my windows are leaking when raining very hard or washing the car.

It seems the weather made the seal weak and crack even if the car is stored...

Thanks for the tips.

Olo,

Yup,,,forget the new window seals and save yourself some $$$. I had new ones installed, and the leaks became worse. Spend that saved money on both new, improved, Tom Mills window regulators

Inclement weather? Take along some extra towels in the trunk

Hello,

Yeah I can see that and it is great to find some useful infos.

Save me time and money... especially when it takes months for the order and I can't turn them back as soon it is shipped. So I cannot order a wrong parts.

Thanks

I have found Go Chrysler to be more expensive than Jeff Hunter's old place. Call 1-800-456-5337 and ask for the POA discount for the cheapest price. I think the contact there is Scott.

Olo,

Timing Belt do not have to be replace until 84,000 - see post by quincy dated 06-07-2010 - also do a search topic timing belt and look for post by eric wolf dated 3-16-2009.
Hope this will help with your timing belt question.

Yes having the Cat in Tahiti ( and in yellow ) always attract a lot of attention everywhere I go... sometimes so much that people almost get into accident... haha

Thanks for the contacts.

I saw the topics about the timing belt but I don't trust much non chain belt to last long... especially with the type of weather i'm living...

But after reading some of the timing belt topics I will first check my current timing belt and see after 10 years, what condition it will be before ordering anything.

Thanks all.
