Dear Prowler members please help!!! My prowler has developed serious transmission and gearbox problems. I can only get gear 1 and Gear 2. I CANNOT get gear 3 talkless of gear 4. When the car tries to get gear 3 or 4 it just makes a shuddering non moving bolt and then stays permanantly in gear 2. I live in the UK and we have checked the gearbox and drained the fluid as well as pumping the fluid while the car is on a ramp to no avail. The problem is that the Transmission experts say that the Gearbox is fine and they cant find the fault!!! PLEASE HELP!! Also, since i bought my prowler, it has always had squeaking problems from my passenger side front wheel. anytime that you turn to left or right. The mechanics down here say its the Belt tensioner but when ever the noise gets serious, its when the ball joint failure is about to snap. It has snapped TWICE!! Am I or my prowler CURSED?? Please HELP |

Does your speedometer work? That determines if you need the input or output tranny sensor. If you cannot get them, PM me and I will send you both tomorrow. They are about $ 18 each. |

I bought the two sensors today. They were $ 22.75 each plus tax. They went up a bit since I last bought them. I need your address to mail them tomorrow. You can send $ 60 Paypal and I will send back whatever change you have coming after postage. The postage shouldn't be very high since they are very light weight. |

I was just getting the sensors ready to ship. Thought I would put a paper towel in each box so it did not slide around. It is not the correct part. The box is correct but the sensor is not even close. Luckily I have changed mine a couple of times and it was obvious. I will ship the two I had as spares and return the wrong ones. The bad news is that I have to keep the receipt. I might be able to exchange it in the morning on the way to Louisville. It is not too far out of the way. They only had one of one sensor and three of the other. I don't remember which was which. I am really glad I caught it before I shipped it but sure wish I would have checked it earlier. |
