About 2 weeks ago, I started my car at night and as I pulled out the headlight switch, the dash lights came on and went out! Upon further inspection, the parking lights were also out...
The next day I found that the dash lights are wired by Chrysler, to go out if the tail lights are out. I changed the 15 amp fuse under the driver side engine panel and the parking lights came back on, but the dash lights were still out. Didn't have time to mess with it so I continued to drive without dash lights. Tonight the parking light fuse blew again (so I'm assuming that the problem is with them and not the dash lights).
Not sure where the dash lights fuse is located and I'm missing the cover to the fuse box under the driver side panel (without the cover, I can't identify the fuses and relays...if someone can take a pic of their fuse diagram or has an extra cover to sell, I would appreciate it)
Anyway, anyone else ever have a parking light problem like this? Any ideas where to start?

hey Alprowl sorry you are having trouble with this.
Here are the 99 fuse panel by drivers door inside car.

Here is the distribution center diagram for a 99 on the left side of car under side panel.

While you were trying to figure lights out, might you have turned headlight stalk to turn dash lights down. When you replaced fuse and tail lights came on, maybe why dash lights did not.

No that wasn't the problem...somewhere I saw the suggestion to rotate the switch a few times in case it was a bad contact, but that wasn't it.

Thanks Robin for the pics...I replaced the 15 amp parking light fuse (again) and then found a 5 amp fuse that was also blown...when I replaced it, the dash lights came on.
I was thinking that when I had the car wrapped and I removed a lot of body
parts that maybe a wire was pinched somewhere...but now I think that since I removed the ft bumpers and relocated the parking/signal lights behind the grille and then added parking lights to the 'signal' mirrors, (the signal mirror wiring is from the side marker lights that I removed long ago) maybe the extra amperage was too much? As a test I have unplugged the lights behind the grille for now.

Well, even with front parking lights disconnected, the fuse blew again this evening. Not sure if it's related, but it blew as I was adjusting the driver side power mirror (but mirror fuse did not blow) ... Tomorrow I will open up the door panels to see if the wires/connections are shorting out, if that's not obvious I guess I'll disconnect the mirror parking lights to try to narrow it down.
May add LEDs to rear bumper so that there is some illumination at night if fuse blows again.

Any luck yet alprowl?
Wondering if it's the light switch ?
As soon as you pull the lights on does the fuse blow?

This last time I had driven about 2 miles with lights on before it blew. Been too busy to open up the door, hope to get to it soon.
