I am getting a squeak that seems to come from the hood around the hinge maybe, but can't seem to locatee it. Also, the dash rattles where the color coded gauge cluster meets the dash. Is there anyone else who has had this problem and maybe some possible solutions.

thanks
Darryl

Darryl,
I had a dash rattle that we finally tracked down to the glovebox door. I swore that it was in the radio and finally took the tech for a ride, he put his knee against the door by accident and the noise stopped. He replaced the glovebox door and I've had no problem since.
Someone posted quite while back that the hood hinge rubbed against some part near it causing the squeek. Maybe someone else remembers what the cure was.
I hope this helped.

Thanks Larry,
yes i did a test while my wife drove i tried to pinpoint the squeak and when i pulled up on the hood it would stop. I did notice some paint rubbed off of the hinge, but i could not see an opposing wear mark. With the dash problem i put a piece of paper inbetween the gauge cluster and the dash and the rattle stopped. it is getting worse now and a piece of paper no longer remedies the situation.

Try wrapping some duct tape around the hood latch this took away my hood squeak till the duct tape wore down. The dash squeak went away on mine at about 6000 miles?
Hope this helps

Try this:

Instrument panel cluster squeak fix if I/P top cover bezel contacts the Cluster (gauges).

The contact can be checked by pushing the bezel forward and it causes a squeak or use a piece of thick paper or cardboard about 1/2 to 1 mm thick to check the clearance between the bezel and cluster.

If there is a squeak or there is no clearance, try the following:

1. Remove I/P top cover - pull rearward (clipped to main I/P structure).
2. Loosen (do not remove) the four screws (facing downward) that hold the lower I/P cover to the main I/P structure.
3. Pull the lower cover rearward and tighten the four screws while holding the cover rearward.
4. Loosen (do not remove) four screws (forward facing) and two screws (facing downward on the metal bracket) that hold the cluster assembly to the main I/P structure. Do not loosen the two screws (forward facing) from the cluster to the metal bracket on top of the main I/P structure.
5. Move the cluster assembly upward as far as possible and tighten the six screws while holding the cluster upward.
6. Reinstall I/P top cover and check gap from I/P top cover to gauges: should be 1 mm.

Hope this helps!
