I ran across this 2009 Superbird (#5) on Flea Bay today and thought maybe TUIB might like to add another to the collection.? I also thought some here might like to be aware of it. The asking price is only $59,995.00 and it is at a Dealer in New Jersey of all places.

Here is a cut and paste from the ad:
"2009 Dodge Challenger Superbird SRT8. This Dodge Challenger has only 18,800 original miles on it and has a clean, accident free CARFAX. This is a true numbered Challenger SRT8 (#5 out of an estimated 15 built) that Chrysler had commissioned for HPP to create the incredible "Superbird". With the Kenne Belle Mammoth Supercharger added to the legendary 6.1L HEMI V8 and
other modifications (both cosmetic and performance oriented) such as quad exhaust outlets on each side, upgraded Brembo slotted disc brakes, and upgraded suspension, this vehicle MSRPed over $100,000 new! The Challenger this was Superbird was built from was a loaded SRT8 with an MSRP of $43,960. The Challenger was equipped from the factory with a 13 speaker Kicker audio system, heated front Dark Slate Gray suede/leather trimmed seats, a 6 disc CD changer, a power sunroof, and extra cost HEMI-orange pearl paint. This particular Superbird is riding on 22" Giovanna wheels wrapped around Nitto 265/35/R22s up front and Nitto 295/30/R22s around back. If you're looking for a true collectors muscle machine in pristine condition, come down and look at this piece of automotive history!"

I would think it would be worth more than that. I don't care for it especially but it is really a rare car.

Mr. Bell told me long ago that he isn't interested in 'clones' of Superbird and Daytona high winged and extended nosed cars...

He become fond of those "Hurst model remakes" a few years back, so maybe his opinions have changed?
====================================================================================================

Seems odd taking a DODGE Challenger SRT8 and placing PLYMOUTH & Superbird decals on it.... jmo

I wasn't sure, so when I saw it I thought of him.
Regarding "Clones" of the winged and extended nose cars, I think he has found at least one he sort of likes.

Ed,
After posting the red one, I saw a blue one without the Hemi or Supercharger advertised in another state, also on Flea Bay. Rare maybe, but not extinct.

This one is a 2010 for only $48,995.00
Again, a cut and paste from the ad:
"2010 Challenger RT equipped with all the ingredients to create what would have been Plymouths super car if they were around today. Starting its life as a 2010 Challenger this canvas was already well equipped with leather, a/c, power windows, power brakes, keyless entry, keyless start, AM/FM CD player with Bluetooth, 54 Speed Automatic transmission, and loads of other accessories. Add the Superbird front end conversion, 3-piece rear wing, and side vents for a truly one of a kind vehicle that garners attention wherever it goes. All the badges on this challenger have been replaced with Plymouth and Superbird specific logos, decals, etc., to really give it that factory authentic look. Powering this neo classic bird is powered by the 5.7 Liter HEMI V8 that will really move this bad boy down the road with authority."

Maybe I'll put some Dodge emblems on my Prowler!

Could have just labeled it, a Daytona.

That 54 speed tranny makes it fairly rare, I would think.
I like the blue color but the other one has a lot more going for it. Not my cup of tea, however. Interesting to read about so I am glad you posted them.

Mr. Bell probably hasn't read this thread yet,,,he's busy chasing alligators from his Florida property. He has posted many posts about his ownership of several Dodge Daytona winged cars....Below is one I enjoyed:

While its true he isn't into manual labor,,,there are days when he has to wrestle the 'gators from emerging from his 3 acre pond when the yard crew has a day off. He sent me this picture recently (taken Nov 11th) describing his most physical encounter to date with a monster 'gator. Took Bell 23 minutes to defeat this big boy by breaking his jaw....pulling the 'gator to shore, and shipping him off to have a new purse and shoes made for Debbie.

Small gators are best for purses, etc. The pattern is more pleasing to the eye. TRUE story, also. I didn't know that until we started visiting Okeechobee. I am much smarter now. lol

Debbie Bell doesn't want a purse that is *pleasing to the **eye,,, she'd be worried the Florida illegals would rip it out of her hand and run! Unknown to many,,,Debbie carries the Bell fun-money in her purses.

...the Winged Challengers suck, they are widely hated in MOPAR Land....long ago, they were an approximately $19k kit to be added on to any Challenger you brought to them....they have been striped as a Daytona and a Superbird, neither of course being anywhere close to the original concept.....in short, once again, THEY SUCK

...alligators have been a minor problem, lost 3 pool boys this summer, but a fresh supply is waiting in Tijuana....I will be taking a trailer, overnighting in Mesa and visiting Alley Cat and Cookie, then on to reload for the winter,

...”Project Blackbird” was built from an original 1970 Road Runner convertible (a rare car) and is as close to what a real one would have been if Chrysler had made the decision to actually build them....although it is running a 426 HEMI, EFI, 6 spd, it is still a lot of fun

You can get her a POODLE skirt for Christmas. They like small dogs, you know. Good thing you upped her life insurance policy last year.

Taco,,,I'm glad Debbie is using that 'chicken scented' sun tan lotion I sent her for her last birthday....it was an unused/unopened box I picked up at the Goodwill store on 1/2 price day (don't tell her)

No need to drive all the way to Mesa,,,just stop in El Paso TX and save yourself 700 miles (X 2 roundtrip),,,as there will be a surplus of Central America illegals running loose looking for work. You'll have the pick of the litter for new yard boys, as your premium wage package of $6 per day, two P&J sandwiches per day, and a large sleeping tent in your back yard near the pond and the gators.....these guys will be fighting each other to be employed by you!! Happy traveling --- be sure to get your immunity shots up to date before meeting the prospective employees......
