In November, 1993 I was blessed with my first grandson.

At my request, my daughter named him "Zachary" (Which means "God's Promise")

One of my most cherished memories is of his very FIRST Christmas (he was less than 2 months old) when I held him in my arms and by the light of our Christmas tree we listened as this beautiful John Denver song played for he and I....

It's titled "A Baby Just Like You" (by John Denver)

.....And if YOU have been blessed with a child or a grandchild this year and are celebrating your very first Christmas with him or her I'd like you to do what I did 24 years ago and play this touching song with your Christmas wish just for THEM....

Of course, instead of "Zachary" insert THEIR name...The sentiment and your love for them will be the same as it was (and still is) for me....

Click here and listen to the beautiful lyrics:

Lyrics: (Follow along as you listen)

The season is upon us now
A time for gifts and giving

And as the year draws to its close
I think about my living

The Christmas time when I was young,
The magic and the wonder,

But colors dull and candles dim,
And dark my standing under........

O little Angel, shining light
You've set my soul to dreaming

You've given back my joy in life,
And filled me with new meaning

A Savior King was born that day,
A baby just like you....

And as the Magi came with gifts,
I come with my gift to you...

That peace on Earth fills up your time,
That brotherhood surrounds you.

That you may know the warmth of love,
And wrap it all around you.

It's just a wish, a dream I'm told
From days when I was young......

Merry Christmas, little Zachary
Merry Christmas, everyone

Merry Christmas, little Zachary
Merry Christmas, everyone

I know that song well. Helped that we lived in "Rocky Mountain Colorado" for 14 years and I've always loved John Denver's music. We are expecting our first Great Grandson Oliver in March 2018.

Congratulations to you and to your family, CJ....

The baby I referred to (Zachary) is now 24 years old,... he graduated last year "cum laude" from the University of Cincinnati, has a good job and he is STILL the "apple of my eye".

He's a great looking red head with blue eyes and if I'm lucky enough to live that long, maybe one day I'll have ANOTHER little red head (great grandchild) to hold and sing to at Christmas....

In my mind, I've already pictured her to look like this:

.....And like you,.....I can hardly wait.
