Just as crazy as the Connan deal ... was the buyout Mariah Carey received from EMI (Virgin Records)a few years ago . EMI signed her to a $100 million dollar contract ... gave her $21 million of it up front . After one bum album (Glitter) and nervous breakdown ... they tore up the contract and paid her $28 million to go away . She pocketed $49 million in one year ... for one album . The Buck Stops Here !
