Mickey, no idea. It had historical plates. I couldn't see a VIN anywhere and didn't see anyone around it. We got there rather late, around 8 PM so we didn't get to see the entire thing and I didn't want to hang in one spot. |

Yeah, It's a Indian Chief. I had one back in the sixties. made a Chopper out of it, Big Flathead motor. One side of the tank partially filled with oil, and other side with gas. painted it orange, got rid of the tank shift and made it a "jockey shift" with the foot clutch. Indian Chiefs had a 3 speed trans and not a 4 speed like the Harleys had. Check out those built in rear shocks! I was at the Bobs Big Boy Friday night cruise in Toluca Lake, CA and saw a "new" Indian Chief with the S&S motor. Fenders etc looked very similar to this original one. By the way, there was a Yellow prowler with chrome front suspension that cruised thru, don't know who it was. This message has been edited by outagas on 07-01-2012 at 08:22 PM |
