I must agree with you - but in my opinion part of the Vikings' problems came down to coaching. They have the talent but the Cards outplayed played them. I hope this isn't the beginning of the end of Minnesota's season...

i was a vikings fan since there incepetion, and it was the same outcome,no matter who the owners, coaches or players were,4 super bowl losses and many playoff losses,it was the same old story no matter what, seems like always in the last minute of the most important game of there life, they managed to throw it away.i disowned them about 4 yrs ago and became a card fan.i truly believe that the vikings are jinkxed forever and will never have what it takes to win a superbowl.over the yrs they have had many great teams, they just cant do it when it counts.

Jan,,,don't count the Vikes out yet,,,,they'll have home field advantage through most of the playoffs, along with the Saints.

Allen,,,the Viking defensive mad man the Cards held in check,,,,,said next time "it won't be the same game".

The Cards are indeed fortunate,,,they have four wide receivers who are top notch players. BUTT,,,,ya have to stop the opponent from going 99 yards to score in the last two minutes(ala,Titans). We'll see

Good to see the Steelers, the Super Bowl champs who were lucky to win last year,,,,,,are having a miserable year now. > beat by Oakland, lol.

The Bengals lost to Oakland, also. Oakland made the Bengals look pathetic. I think part of it is the high flying teams think they can just walk in and win and the lower teams are very hungry to beat a decent team and get some respect.
The Bengals now have their second winning season in 19 years. You read that right, 2 for 19. They beat the Ravens twice, the Steelers twice and the Browns twice but lost to Oakland, that outplayed them by a bunch. A couple of guys were dinged up and they knew they could beat the Raiders. In those 17 losing seasons the Bengals beat some decent teams, especially in the last 4 or 5 weeks. It is hard to figure out sometimes.
Bengals play Vikings this week. Big game for both teams, I would think.
Besides the Bengals beating the Steelers twice, U C just beat PITT for the Big East Championship. Pittsburgh beat up on us for years, but this year the tide finally changed.

Will U C coach Brian Kelly take the N D job ? Is that still a great, high prestige job or has N D diminished its image and it is not in the conferences that get the good bowl bids.

I think Kelly will get the job, jmo.

N Dame, and Big Ten schools,,,just don't get the blue chip high school players much anymore. Those kids would rather play in warm weather areas with high profile teams, and where academics aren't as rigid. ND,,,no Jr. college transfers and no weak academic players are allowed (like Stanford, etc) That alone makes it tougher to get the best high school players.

He supposedly had a job interview with them today and then supposedly didn't.
Most folks here think it is a done deal although they hope it isn't.

I wish he would stay at Cincy. He's a good coach and he's been good for their program program for sure.

Tonight is the UC Football banquet and they expected he would announce one way or another.
I haven't heard any news reports but we were gone out to eat and I was listening to oldies rock, not the news type stations.
I hope he stays but that is supposedly his dream job. It isn't what it used to be, for sure. Notre Dame had their own TV network and they were always on TV and other teams weren't very often. That has all changed.
